thats ridiculous i have 2 boxer dogs and an alarm for all areas of the house i like the thick end of the snooker cue approach.
i would consider buying a big scary dog if you like dogs as they work as the best deterent.

Another thing you could do with the PIR's is to take the auxilary output that is triggered when the light is triggered to an internal sounding bell and/or light.

just had tracker fitted to car and i suppose a good thing is we know the alarms are good cos they have not even touched the car thay know they need the keys. my mate had his passat done 5 days ago and recovered it himself from some local thieving scum.
its a case of adults getting kids to do the thieving for them i suppose, sign of the times. in an ideal world i will find out not just who the kids are but who they were trying to take it for

Feel for you pal.
It touches a raw nerve when people are f*cking about with family and your possesions.
Hopefully it's what 999 said and they will leave it now.
All the advice is sound on here but personally speaking I have weapons in hidden places in the house from the front and back doors to the bedroom. Friends of mine have experienced this to the extreme, if they get in destroy them, the only way to fight terror is to fill them with more terror.
Best of luck.

my family come first and everything i own i have worked hard for and will protect it by whatever means necessary
Sorry to hear about this but imho I would seriously consider selling it if there's no other way of keeping it garaged at home or nearby. Lots of useful advice above re home security but FAMILY COME FIRST!!!!

Chap up the road from me kept his on the drive, they tried to break in twice for the keys with no joy so third time round kicked the door in while they were all at home downstairs and took the keys at gunpoint....

Car was recovered quickly but none of the family would go near it again.

I personally would lose the 'mini baseball bat' from the car as well.
