Quick question, I've smoothed over the lock too, meaning I have to use the internal release, turns out the spoiler must have been quite heavy as it now opens like a catapult (doesn't work, tried it with an empty beer can...) any idea?

What about clipping a small cargo net under the bootlid and putting some bits in there to weight it down?

Yeah, could try that, maybe something less 'swingy'.

I've used sound proofing as used by audio companies to weigh my boot lid just right.

Wrong!
Just like putting a high level spoiler on a newage spec d!!!!!
Didn't they add a smaller spoiler to the cosworth to make the RS500 not replace it!

Only thing is I look in the rear mirror and can see (briefly) the spoiler bowing, it means to me its doing its job!
As there is no flat floor or under floor diffusing!
Its nice to be different but at what cost?

Err, I was on about the lack of vent, ie, it's a non-turbo, so going fast enough to worry about down-force isn't an issue. Not that anyone would be going fast enough on public roads to worry about it anyway though would they?

No why? Are they relatively cheap to insure at 22 as well?
Spoiler is still attached to the original boot lid ;]
Very nice Zach and ChibiSF. ChibiSF what do you mean by 'shaved' ?

Does the E46 M3 spoiler fit straight on to the classic bootlid? Or does it need trimming?

Yeah, direct fit. The carbon one i have is more rigid, and it was a little more tricky to get flat, the plastic ones are fine.

Check the width of your boot Calvin as there are a few different lengths around for the aftermarket ones. Unfortunately the newage bootlid isn't straight
