I remember it too Mark, your words being "C'mon mate, it aint the cars fault, so dont take it out on her" lol. It was one of many kicks up the **** i needed to rebuild it.

Any yes, i must have a crap credit rating as i dont even own a card lol

Your slot behind the wheel is booked ready mate, youre always welcome a go in it.

You're the same as me Frayz. Mine is done on an as and when I can afford it basis.
Nothing on my car has been bought using credit cards or loans.

It's also the reason mine takes so long. It would be built in a couple of months had I had the cash all at once.

Some people have no idea how long it takes to save up for such things like Turbos , gearboxes and twin plate clutches.

Soldier on mate it looks like its getting there.

Totally agree Daz, If i had an abundance of money i could put this together in a matter of weeks or very few months.
Very few people actually have any idea of what projects like these cost. And im essentially only doing a basic engine build, not even a whole car lol.

Least i can say its 100% my own work, all bought and paid for.

+3 Exact same reason why mine is taking so long, it is hard and frustrating at times but it's worth while in the long run.

And what an amazing piece of work it is, the attention to detail will certainly pay dividends when you get her finished.

Oh it certainly can, add to that the fact that the Subaru engine is notoriously difficult to make it look pretty.

Yeah I'd agree with that. Even with me trying to tidy and simplify everything, it's still like a game of KerPlunk under there.

You could always go for a plain boring 4-cylinder Evo and paint the rocker cover

Your engine is providing me with a lot of inspiration for when mine comes back from the bodyshop - I already had the black and red scheme in my head and no I can visualise it and decide just how I want mine to look

Trial fit for the final boost pipe/turbo outlet.

Needs some changes but not much

I'm in the same boat, when you have a mortgage, bills to pay and family to feed everything takes longer and sometimes you just need that wee boot up the jacksy to get you back on track. thats me been at mine for a year now and still no where near complete, but at least we can say "Built not Bought!!" Anyone can build a car on credit in no time at all, money talks.

Looking forward to seeing the power figures Frayz, might be in touch for one of your wing inserts if you still have them not sure yet.

Hard cash for the win!! lol

My thoughts exactly there! well said. I take that to the extreme even making my own ecu's and tuning the car myself!

Frayz, I can't see from that photo, but would the (I think it is...) PAS braided line start to rub through your Samco inlet pipe over time?

Loving the work. It would be great if, when you've finished, we could get some more detailed photos?

Olly,

Its not even connected to the pump in that pic, its just draped over the inlet. That wont be routed that way youll be pleased to know.

Let me know what photos youd like to see and i'll try and take some for you
