Sweet, hope they get there beers on time. Your going to have quite a monster there once its finished.
I wasn't quite as brave and got the short block built by Engine tuner but am enjoying building the rest up, its supprising how easy the costs add up when you do things properly!!

Lets hope its a monster, i'll be gutted if not lol. Yes its very satisfying doing it yourself. For me its a money thing, im not gonna pay someone else to do something i do evey day.
I know what you mean about costs adding up. Try doing things to a decent standard with these things and the money just snowballs.
Are you going rotated too?

Need a wing insert?

Exactly my thoughts too. Im a marine engineer by trade so know how to handle the tools so to say. I have a 20g from Harvey sitting here but am not 100% sure thats the way im going at the moment, although they seem to get good results. Im not going mad as am keeping the 5 speed running gear thats in the wagon now so its going to be in the stock location. Hoping for somewhere around 400 with good manners. It was running 350ish up untill the ring lands went and destroyed itself!! Hopefully the gearbox will hang in there untill the funds have recovered a bit.

Mickey if you want to i can refurb the header tank for you. Ie get it bead blasted, powdercoated and supply new stainless fasteners for you.
Yes there is the gasket in there of which ive added some Loctite gasket sealnt too, just to give it a hand.

The wingserts i will be making a small batch of and they will be sold on a first come first serve basis. Im going to supply a kit with cutting template and instructions for £130.

Mostly these are designed for rotated setups like im doing but lots of guys want to use them for their stock location setups too. That the beauty of it. You can alter it any way you want very easily.
I can also make different sized feeds for different size ducting depending on what you want to use. But my aim is to make something that is like a factory fitted part once installed.

The newage ones are almost ready to go out and then i will get the classic ones made up.

Is this the sort of thing that interests you?

Did you ever get a photo of a classic inner wing as requested earlier? If not I'll sort one on the weekend (won't be home in daylight before) I'm still interested in a Frayz Wingsert for when i finally get around to fitting my rotated set up.

Cheers mate, i didnt get a photo but i have 1 or 2 friends who I hope to look at their cars and look at how the newage wingsert fits in their cars.

I know there are a few guys with classics that want a wingsert. As soon as i can i'll modify the newage one to fit and then get a small batch run off.
Im not a business as you know and am only looking to make small batches of things just to help me pay for my own build. Ive tried to speak to as many people about its concept as possible.ie; design, function, price etc.

What are your thoughts?

That's probably best as looking at it in situ would be way better than a photo.
Put me down for one of the batch - re design etc - exactly as it is bar any size mods necessary for a classic inner wing suits me- and I'll go with whatever ducting aperture size the majority go for as whatever it is will be better than I have at the moment. I have a rotated kit to go on (eventually) so I 'd be looking to poke the nose of the K&N right into the Wingsert

Re price - a price of £130 was mentioned previously and that would be Ok by me. Less would be even better obviously You're probably aware that RCM sell a metal version for both new age and GC8 at £175. - newage -http://www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk/shop_detail.asp?productID=1153

Cheers for the feedback John.

The RCM item is aluminium and i have no idea what size their intake apperture is. My one has the provision to be made deeper still if an 83mm port isnt enough. But to be honest, the volume of air flowed by an 83mm duct is absolutely huge. I cant see any more giving any more gain if im honest.
I also dont know if the RCM item comes with fitting instructions and a template? Their £175 is also +VAT, which gives a total of £205 plus delivery.

Therefore i think £130 is pretty competitive for a fully custom molded part. fitting instutions and comprehinsive template.

No probs the praise is well earned!

My cars getting there slowly but had a few hold ups paintwork wise, i wasn't happy with it so its going back but he is so busy it hasn't happened yet.
Supposed to be getting sorted next week. I collected my rotated kit from neil a couple of weeks ago and it is fantastic.

However i can speak for Neils (T-Logics) quality. And that is quality of a very very high level indeed. All parts and hand made by one guy that individually jigg's each job to ensure it fits exactly on your car first time.
Every setup is built on a bench on a dummy block by one man whos career has been to build exhaust systems for WRC cars the world over. No massive factory, production line or machine welding.

I can assure anyone that purchases one of neils setups would not be any way disappointed with the fit, finish or price.

I've just collected the first batch of newage ones. They look great. I'm going to personally test fit this batch to ensure they fit perfect with my measurements/templates etc. I'm aiming to get one fitted in a classic asap. Although if I'm honest I think the changes will be very little between them.
I'm hoping that once people have seen it fitted in my car it will generate some more interest. Thanks for taking an interest in it. I'll be sure to keep you posted and rest assured you'll have one of the first Classic fitment inserts I make available.
