Also going to ask Iain to map it with the EcuTek in gear boost control

I hated the anti-lag & induction kit and removed them. Also removed in gear boost after having random cold starting and missing issues. That was traced to combination of a bad plug, a bad earth lead, coolant sensor and U/S MilTek down pipe.

Now all is well with the Car the in gear boost control can go back in when mapped with the Billet but not the A-lag or Induction kit

Tim That is odd

Sorry tim no offence meant but from my Car being 3 months old, I've never bothered with any warranty and paid for all repairs due to my trackdays

I did take Iain out at brands Car in my Type20 (14months old) he said "You do aaff give this some stick" which I replied "its OK it's still under warranty" but he went a far better colour when I started laughing

No offence whatsoever Tony - just hearing a fair few stories of Milltek's having problems, and I seem to have had more than my fair share of "silly" issues, of which Milltek is just one of many

I had to weld some cracks in the centre section joints and downpipe of my Miltek system, but i've put that down to the fact the engine mount broke, so the engine was moving more than you would want, which of course will strain the exhaust at it's joints.

Check you dont have a soft or broken engine mount if you are getting cracks in the exhaust system.

As Tony say's, when you start modifying you tend to throw the rule book out of the window along with the warranty. However, when I blew the baffle material out of my downpipe twice on the Spec C, they did honour replacements..... when in reality I didn't really expect it with that use and level of power at the time.

It's not all about the age or the miles either (in isolation).... it's also about the type of use. You take Tony's..... his 30k miles is probably equivalent to a normal persons 100k miles. I'm being serious!

As John says, having "weak" engine mounts won't help your joints. I would suspect it won't need much movement in these area's for fractures to appear increased stress. From what I have seen, this is the area where problems seem to be more common.

Tim,
I would suggest you have been insanely "unlucky" to a degree.

I assume then that it would be wise to fit up-rated "group-N" engine mounts?

That's a very good point John especially as "we" are more likely to be exerting higher "G forces" when breaking, excellerating and cornering on trackdays. IMHO

There was a group by on some "Uprated" engine mounts somewhere on scoobynet?

I have no experience of uprated engine mounts for a Scoob, but I have driven a few other marques with this type of mod....... if those were anything to go by you wouldn't want the negative effect on compliance for road use imo, if this is replicated on a Scoob.

I fitted genuine STi GroupN mounts after my failure, plus a super pro pitch stopper. You do get a very slight increase in vibration at low idle speed into the car, but you soon get used to it, i upped the idle speed by 500rpm and i now dont notice it at all.

I know, but the wait is killing me! In the mean time I might get some bigger injectors and fit the downpipe and see what power the VF42 can produce if it's close to 400/400 then I might not even need an LM400. However everyone I ever speak to has no dealings with the VF42 ,,but it manages 350bhp/350ltb on the standard map

Right spoke to Ian yesterday and he's sending me a down pipe so I can get it mated to my blitz nur spec system so it's 3" through out. Hopefully by the time I get that sorted the compressor wheels will be in and I can have the turbo fitted!

I took the car to the garage today to install the new turbo and unfortunately it didn't happen cause I'm missing few crucial bits. I tried to call Iain few times and left a message to call me back, but no luck today.

First of all, when I have just received the package in London, I noticed lack of two little shims in the Ecutek injector kit. So I contacted Litchfield's office and as far as I know they have been sent out. Obviously we did find similar shims we could use in the garage.

Today, when we have taken off the fuel rails and tried installing the injectors, we figured that we're missing 4xspacers that go between the fuel rails and the manifold, these we will try to produce here in Moscow as soon as Iain will let me know the exact size these need to be.

And the last thing, although i have ordered so called turbo fitting kit, I didn't find an oil IN fitting, I do have both IN & OUT water fittings and an OUT for oil. We checked if the OEM one from the VF36 is supposed to be used, but it is of a different diameter, so I'm not sure if this bit was supposed to be delivered along with the order or I'm expected to figure it out myself

So I very much look forward to talk to Iain, cause my baby is sitting in the garage and I'm not a happy bunny

Shaun, and others here who have ordered these kits, can you plz share what is the situation with the oil IN fitting? Does it come with the kit?

Ilya,
The Oil IN fitting would be part of the turbo kit I assume. Did you order the uprated oil feed pipe..... is it attached to that?

Speak to Iain and I'm sure he will advise.

today our garage have produced all the missing bits and hopefully tomorrow will start mapping

have not heard from Mr. Litchfield so far and to be honest I'm a bit disappointed, not too much about the fact that some parts were missing, we're all people and things like this happen, but the fact that I have called his office few times in despair, and even though the first time I was told he will return my call in 20 mins, no luck so far. fortunately for me the turbo itself wasn't missing

p.s.

I have also noticed a little strange thing on the injectors, the clips that clip on to the injectors differ, two of one kind and two of another, WHY?

I have had the same situation with Iain.
I have phoned and left messages with his office , and return calls never happen!

I think that is poor , and belive Iain is spending more tim ewith his GTrs now than the Scoobies.
At the moment though he is in India , so returning calls maybe an issues?

After 9 months now , and Iain has got the car up and running on the road with the LM500 turbo , and built to his new T25 ENGINE SPEC. He has recomended that to make full use of the engine and turbo a betetr specd Ecu would help.
So eventhough its been the 9 months that I have not had the car ,
