Owen developments do hose clamps, murray constant tension ones, the best you can buy with no blow offs

Latest update, old splitter is removed ready for the new one and I've switched back to the original grille as I'm selling the one that was on the car. Also fitted the Prodrive Battery Clamp, ZunSport lower Grille and the new rear lights. Bit p****d off as the Prodrive splitter will not hide the holes in the front bumper from the other splitter so either need to get it repaired or fit a matching one from a breakers, whichever is cheapest.
Also fitted the STI TMIC with most of the Samco hoses, I couldn't get the dump valve hose off as the clamp is fitted in such a way that I couldn't get it off! I've got a silicone induction hose on order so I'll sort that when I switch the induction hose.

Coming on nicely, if you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the rear spoiler and is the colour agood match? I'm planning the same for mine

It's about £400 from Scoobyworld, good match if being ultra critical I could say it's a tiny bit too light a blue.

It all comes down to timings, if the match is okay I might by the spoiler earlier, if not I'll buy it nearer the time of the respray. Is it fibre glass or ABS plastic?

It's PU according to the website, GRP according to the invoice. in the flesh appears not to be GRP ( I know GRP from boats etc.) but is not the normal thin ABS plastic.

PU I could live with, but I'd rather not have GRP, too prone to cracking for my liking

Thanks for the info, it gives me something to work with

Carbon look - Actually look really good any only just more than plain ABS - Thought I'd try them and if not happy was going to get a carbon mods kit to skin them in the real thing but I think they look fine.

Just had a Valet done by these guys Goring Car Valet excellent job had a 1 stage machine polish, clay bar and wax they achieved really good correction. I wanted a good clean so I could fully assess the state of the paintwork before I got the car to a body shop. Just waiting for the skirts to arrive before I get the car booked in, think I need a full front end respray and some touch ups down each side.

Is that an STI scoop, it just doesn't look as big as mine.

I do like those rear lights, are they a straight swap as I'm tossing up between them and blob eye ones

It is coming along nicely

Jon,

My STI scoop is in the garage in all it's naked black plasticness! Still waiting to fit it.

Yep those are a direct replacement rear light, I too wanted the Blobeye ones but with the new bumper/bodged bumper required (can't get them in Mica Blue either) these were far better value (£80). I got mine from eBay I can give you the guys info if you want.

I have them in my watch list just waiting for the cash to be saved I was just curious because there appears to be less lights than on the bug, al least on the driver's side where you have the fog light

The blob ones are a direct fit if you remove a piece of foam from the underside. No need for a blob bumper or bodging your bug one

Fog is inside the rear light (two bulbs in one lens).

So is that using new bulb holders or the OEM ones?

Yep - no re wiring required, just disconnect the multi socket and take out the old clusters then you put the existing bulbholders/bulbs into the new clusters. Refit lights then connect multi connector. Basically the back of the lights are identical to the originals.

Jon, if you go for BLOB/HAWKEYE rear lights you need their bulb holders as the bugeye ones don't fit.

Now need the boot fully resprayed too as some bar steward kicked it last night creasing and scratching the panel! Skirts arrived today so off around the local bodyshops for quotes.

Ok got the skirts now, just trying to find a localish bodyshop with a good reputation to do the work. It's a long list now though:
Respray of front bumper, stone chips odd small scuff nothing too deep/serious.
Spray and fit of brand new Prodrive front lip.
Spray and fit of second hand genuine front grille (JDM STI style).
Removal of two small dents and respray of badly stone chipped bonnet.
Spray and fit of brand new genuine STI hood scoop.
Respray/repair of front wings, front 1/2 of wings are badly stone chipped.
Spray and fit of brand new Orciari Side skirts in bare plastic.
Respray of rear bumper, 2 scuffs one slightly creased.
Respray/repair of boot, has been kicked and keyed by a passing chav I've pushed out the dent but still slightly deformed (boot has a replica STI spoiler fitted which could do with being moved slightly to the offside on refitting).

Been playing with some leftover paint I had, it's not a perfect match but I got impatient waiting for the funds to accumulate for the proper respray:

Before:

After:

Now where can I get some mesh to match the lower grille (Zunsport)?
