And just to put it further into perspective - if it was a 1 Trillion Pounds, due to our highest denomination being a £50 note.......

twice as high

Still hard to comprehend that much money.....

Is a US trillion the same though? For some reason I thought it was different, for some reason I think a US trillion is 12 zeros where as a UK trillion is 18??? Or am I talking rubbish?

The Uk adopted the US system some time ago, iirc, we used to class a Billion as a million milion, now it is a thousand million etc.

You're correct, the US use a non-sensical method of naming large numbers. We use a method of the number of times a million is written:

1 000 000 = million
1 000 000 000 000 = billion (2 x million)
1 000 000 000 000 000 000 = trillion (3 x million)

So a quadrillion is 4 x million (and so on. Quintrillion= 5 x million) So there's the answer to what you name those really big numbers.

It's actually at a billion (1000 million) that the Americans get it wrong and just stay there.

I reckon that when they have reaped the rewards of printing extra money, our weekly shopping cash will look a bit like that!
