As far as I am aware noise isnt on the MOT, emmisions are, depending on how many cats you have left will determine whether it would be okay.

I have heard louder exhausts, but they had all cats out.

Im sure someone will clarify soon

The info displayed on the MOT section @ Subaru4U:

All UK cars 3 years old and over require a valid MOT certificate by law. The contents and standards required are set by the Vehicle Inspectorate. These standards are continuously reviewed and updated, for example the Vehicle inspectorate has just introduced an amendment to the RfR (Reason for Rejection) regarding Regulation 54(2) of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulation 1986 which states "Every exhaust system and silencer..................shall not be altered to increase the noise made by the escape of exhaust gases". The MOT tester must now asses the level of exhaust noise at all engine required for the emissions check and compare it to a similar vehicle fitted with a standard exhaust. This means that if you have a great big fat phat noisy exhaust then expect to get an MOT failure sheet.

ps. Sorry to Hijack this slightly but it was kinda relevant...

Thanks Scott, Ive never known anyone have problems out of our 100 or so members .. and not one has a standard exhaust. So I guess its something worth checking.. To be honest I did phone up my MOT guy and told him what I was doing with the exhaust and asked if I would have a problem come MOT time and his reply was no, so its always worth checking

Same here , we have never heard a failure due to a aftermarket stainless steel / mild steel exhaust.

Kevj66 Can do just the top section but better performance to have a one piece £425

Ian
911SSC Can you please put me down for a 3" flat flange to mate up to the down pipe and 2.5" to mate up to the back box £80 and a extra gasket, see details below thank you

I currently have a 3" H&S sport-cat downpipe without the gaskets(from turbo to dowpipe) how much is it to supply one?

Well, my H&S package arrived today!! I was so excited.... until i found out I had cmasterScoob's exhaust.... and he had mine

Ian was great though, prepared to UPS both of them back to the right locations on a next day

Oddly enough, I'm staying about 7 miles away from cmaster's house this weekend anyway, so we've saved Ian the dosh and we're doing a meet n swap instead!!

Big thanks to Ian all the same though. The lengths he was going to go to, to get our parcels swapped over was credit to the firm.

By the way Chris.... your zorst looks mint mate!!! Very polished

SORRY Chaps , it was a bit mad on Tuesday night we had loads going out and was running out of time

Japorter thanks for the centre pipe order , so you have a flat 3" flange on the end of your down pipe and not sure what gasket you need ...the 3" one if so we would have put one in anyway.01268 727256 can ring with your details please.

Exhaust came today!! Looks tasty!! Cant wait to get it fitted! Top marks for Ian and Evo Bizz for getting the group buy sorted! This is my first group buy Iv been a apart of and Iv seen and read a few which have gone a bit pear shaped which did kind of put me off a bit. But if this is how well they can be handled then Im more than happy to be part of them.

Well done guys

Ian really sorry for the confusion, at the moment I do have the H&S catted downpipe in my garage. but based on my understanding I also required this part (see picture below), or is it possible to re-use the old one?

I will speak to you over the phone tomorrow thank you

Made it down to cmaster's house and swapped exhausts over. Big thanks to cmaster for giving me GRD's number in Surrey.

Mega big thanks to the lads at GRD for squeezing me in at short notice and for all the help and advice.

Top lads, top workshop, top service. See you in the near future for stage 1!

Bing.

Yep, it's open until the end of the month, just ring Hayward & Scott and quote the ScoobyNet group buy and give them your car details.

Had my centre pipe fitted yesterday, mated to my Prodrive backbox it has given me a nice subtle burble which is exactly what i wanted- nice bunch down there and some very nice cars on the ramps

Made my STI look pretty ordinary!

Thanks again Ian

Am afraid not on a one off as there is too much work . If you could get a few then we could sort you a price.

Had mine fitted today up at Subara 4U in Newbury, very impressed and my sport sounds so much better. Excuse the poor video, I will try and do a better one at some stage.

Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I have read lots of good things about Hayward & Scott exhausts and found myself reading this thread thinking that I would be stupid not to spend some of the money from the sale of my old car on my new car. I am just wondering how much would it cost to ship a complete TBE system to the USA, Northeast? New Hampshire, to be exact.

I am kind of new to all this, but from what I have seen, the prices offered are very good compared to the competition, particularly considering the quality and uniqueness of each piece.
