Any recommendations for the sensor location on STi TMIC?

As the objective is to measure the air charge temperature I think it is important that the probe is in an area where the air charge is rushing past and is subject to minimal influence from latent heat sources such as the inlet manifold. Therefore for me the sender on an FMIC installation should be in the pipework close to the throttle body.
On the Hybrid FMIC the pipework is relatively thin aluminium tube and therefore not subject to long term heat soak. Interestingly I have discovered that the intercoooler performs noticably better if the hard pipe from the intercooler core to the throttle body is DEI exhaust heat wrapped and then screened with reflective cover.

For the TMIC I think the probe should be on the front fact of the intercooler facing towards the engine close to the exit to the throttle body. Alternatively you can locate it in a silicon joiner from the intercooler outlet to the TB. To do this I put in a very short aluminium pipe insert and put the probe in to that through the silicon. Photos to follow when I can find them.

Whats happened to Crazy GTiR?

Last online earlier today so have they just blown it out without telling anyone?

 

Crazy GTiR was in touch end of last week to say he had just run the clutch on his Megane 225 and was out of funds.
Ian, the GB is on top of, and separate to, my existing stock level. I already sell these guages and have three in stock so adding to the GB when all my cars have one already makes no sense.
