As Spoon said, the title is cut short on Firefox and I looked on IE and there is a black box on the end of the title. Can't think of any other way to describe it

You should be proud of that, I like it
Lee, I actually said the Title graphic is too long and required scrolling. However I now see the Homepage title has shrunk a little too short, but the other categories still have a Mr Long title.

Yes its the bit that gets you found on search and depending on how good you are at it can help greatly on where you land on search pages.

The title is straightfoward though. At the moment I see <title></title>

At least try <title>DA Productions</title> at the very minimum but best if you fit in keywords too and use your site name last. <title>Music Technology Training and Consultation | DA Productions</title>

Your website looks cool, 555

Not sure whether the last line shouldn't start with "A" article, though

Consultation and training provisions are available to suit most requirements............ sounds more appropriate, but I may be wrong. Very minor thing to look at, but I thought of no harm in pointing that out. Top page is better being close to perfection, as that is what hooks the browser.

My tuppence worth,

I'd remove the frameset - a big no-no for SEO.

Your top banner size is 2316px × 337px & should fit within a std browser.

Alt & title tags on all images for SEO.

Very good for a first attempt.

To my eyes I can see at least three differents fonts being used. The tab seems to be Arial Bold, the header on the resulting page is a different font (don't know what it is but I like it) and the text looks like Arial.

I think it will look just a little slicker with more consistent font usage.

The pages a quite light and factual (great discography by the way). I would think about some stronger sales messages and perhaps even more content.

Great start

Is that after a day with dreamweaver? Looks good to me.

My company has been on about a website for ages but I won't pay the silly prices builders charge.

Seeing that I might just do it myself.

Looks great for a first attempt. I've been toying with the idea of making a website for self promotion now that I'm redundant. It's been years since I did one (dreamweaver 2 I think!) and I've forgotten everything. Although from what I understand, frames are out, CSS are in. I'll be starting from scratch

Thanks for the positive comments guys

I'm rubbish at this - I've always let my work speak for itself. One of my MAJOR downfalls is self-promotion

Edd - yes, this was my first time using DW cs4. All the prep work was planning it out (taking pics etc)
The DA Productions logo wasn't my work - Karen (Soulgirl - used to be on here) did it for me about 2 yrs ago. Nice use of Photoshop filters

I found it REALLY easy to use - Dedrater's instruction stuff put me in the right direction and a free CSS was used.

Simply put, alt tags on images are just words that describe the image. Search engines don't recognise images but they do text. If for instance Google swept through a site full of images with no alt tags, it wouldn't have any data to take away to effectively promote your site.

By using this alt="Description Here" after the image source link and before </a> you now have keywords to help in search.

Still not sure about the meta tags, nor about the self-promotion stuff....
Any suggestions?

Dan,

Meta tags will not be much use until you remove the frames - even then their function is much deminished.

A search for daproductions shows this DA Productions - Google Search

I'd recommend using non framed forwarding with your website registrar.

PM me if I'm unclear in my advice. I hate typing & have no avatars in my CP.
