How crap is that

I vote for a summer ball

And deff not camping on the 26th June either.
Tunnel run weekend normally isn't it?

Summer is sooooo much better for a ball. Was hoping to make it along to next years but I doubt we will bother now.

Tell you what for a national club the voting went well. didnt even have time to join the SIDC and the voting is closed and booked for next year, less than a month.

It was open to a vote for a SIDC members and a thread was posted up on here with a link too.
Unfortunately the masses opted for October. Take it we wont see you there next year then?

I personally think that maybe a poll should of been put up on here! I tried to logon to SIDC but had forgotten user name and password. So put in my email address sent my password but no username. Still couldn't remember username, couldn't register as has my email address in the system already ... it was at this that I got bored and gave up.

Guys

You can please some of the people some of the time but you cant please all of the people all the time!!

To be as fair to our SIDC members we recently put the date for the 2010 Scooby Ball to the vote to see what people liked (in my eyes this was fair and democratic!) In total we had only 26 votes but an End of Season ball was the winner. This poll was posted for a month, surely this is long enough for those who wanted to join in or those who had password problems to sort things out. Exactly how long do you need these things posted for????

The Ball of 2007 at Eynsham Hall was held as and End of Season Ball, there was over 100 in attendance inc. many Essex crew. At this year's Summer Ball there were less than half that and dispite a promise that Essex were attending in high numbers, I can confirm only 8 went.

Many many hours are spent trying to arange these events and dispite this years ball being a great evening I do feel very disappoited when so few people bother to attend!!

Comments recieved this year were things like "we can't afford it as we are going on holiday" or "sorry, I'm away that week in Spain!"

Whilst the idea of a summer ball is a nice one, in reality, few people seem to want, or can afford, to go in the summer months. I know it's an expensive weekend and we do try to extract every last penny of discount out of the venue to keep costs to a minimum.

Next year to try and please those who did want a summer event we are trying to organise a Scooby BBQ/Hogroast weekend near Warwick, again I know camping is not to everybodys taste but you will also be more than welcome to either bring a 'Caravan' or stop at a local 'Travellodge'
JAE weekends have always been a blast in the past so I'm sure this could be just as good for those who want to go and join in!!

These events really are what you make it, we try to do the right thing by the majority but as I said unfortunately we cant please everyone!!! Unfortunatly it's always going to be somebodys birthday, it's just not possible to find a date in the year that will fit around everyone. I wish we could but realisticly it's just not going to happen!

I for one take it quite personally when posts are put up like "How Crap is that!!!" I'm trying my best!!

Feel free to take it on yourselves to get involved with the organisation and take the pressure and agrevation off the commitee!!!

Kaz

Wasnt being Personal to you. sorry if you took it that way.

Yes I know it takes a lot of blood sweat and tears to sort these things out, myself and Tiny have done enough thing to know this.

I agree with Lin it would have been nice to have had a vote on here too, and thanks to supercue he did up a link up. Did have time to join at that moment, then forgot as I dont go on the SIDC at all. and you cant trust a man to remind you can ya lol.

Didnt know we had an end of season untill this was stated, our season seems to be all year long here never get a rest from it all.

Oh well maybe next time

Hope you all have a great time and get more support than this year.

I counted 12 from Essex.

TBH if i was 'following' an event organised by SIDC i would follow it on SIDC just like i would follow an event organised by Scoobynet on Scoobynet, i dont think sidc should carry the can for people who did not do that, surely if your attending an SIDC event you would be a regular user of SIDC, also if you have difficulty logging on to SIDC im sure its easy enough to contact karyn or phil or Kim via scoobynet instead and let them know your having difficulty with logging in.
Can't see what difference the time of year really makes, i thought it was about like minded people getting together to have a good laugh and an excuse to dress up and dine in great surroundings.
Again everyone has times of year which clash with birthdays, holidays etc we didnt go this year as our three kids were all going to be at home that weekend one of which had to be collected from an airport but it didnt mean we moaned at the organisers because it didnt suit us......
Kaz and Kim worked hard to get it right and from what i can gather their planning made for a great night which is what its all about is'nt it????

Didnt moan at Karyn and Kim because we cant go at that time of year, just put my opinion across. also we had a great time one of the best. thanks girls.

It was an SIDC event and the ESC are part of the SIDC. I prefer to follow the event on scoobynet which I have always done.

Cant be a*ed anymore. sorry for bringing this up. only putting my view across sorry a spoke.

Unfortunately I was at the end of my lunch when i tried to log in, due to working in an IT security environment certain sites are blocked when lunch has ended.
Unfortunately my memory has been a little absent lately and I forgot all about it and getting my login details, also looking back we were only informed on the 15th July about the poll and if it wasn't for supercue posting it up then I'm sure hardly anyone would of known.

I personally enjoy the Summer Ball, as we have had some lovely times enjoying the weather and having a drink.

Anyway I guess the proof will be in the pudding when the tickets go on sale.

I would also like thank Kaz and Kim for all the effort they put in making the ***** the success they are, unfortunately you cannot please everyone all the time.
