steering wheel with quick release boss (ebay special )

Seems to stick a fair distance out, so will have to wait and see what its like. Can easily just revert to wheel on fixed boss alone if its to close to me

Depends how tall you are really... im quite a tall lad, and if i have the seat all the way back with harnesses on, its hard to reach the steering wheel

yup... thats why i went with a dished wheel. Just unsure if the extra 60mm or so from the snapoff boss will make it too close.

Stay away from Flat 4. The block isn't a true CDB its an EJ257 that's been closed after manufacture. It still has the stock liners ad shouldnt be confused with CDB blocks.

Not only that but delivery with Flat 4 is hit and miss. Some people have reported quick delivery whilst others have been waiting months. I wouldn't want to be spending the sums discussed here just in case you become one of the unfortunate ones.

Speak to enginetuner, they do drive in drive out soloutions at very good prices,
i've just had my 2.1 stroker CDB engine built for my Type R and the results are very good indeed..As mentioned keep away from flat4 online they never have anything in stock and take months to get the parts to you

had a wee look at it this afternoon when unloading it into the garage... started it up... NO NOISE at all!

let it Idle for a min with no noise, give the accelerator a prod, and the god awfull rattle started again. Sounds like its coming from the NS (right hand looking in) head.

suggestions.

if the wheel didnt have a dish (65mm ) it would prob be fine.

I just needed a working solution for that trackday/timeattack and the quick release was just a little too close.

I can re-investigate once its back on the road

change of clutch plan.... cant get an AP ( kit no CP2000-18 ) for weeks so went for the quick fix of the exedy FK01H601 kit... supposed to be good to around what i'm planning.

The car wont be running 400bhp till i sort out injectors anyway so it'll do for a while!

Fee loves getting her PJ's in the pics

engine out, all going to plan will be up in Aberdeen on Monday.

DSBC-R arrived....

I've decided to hold back the plans for 400bhp just now and get it all runing with the current fueling (uprated pump, standard FPR and 440cc injectors) so maybe 340bhp for now. I'll look into a track friendly fueiling setup with room for E85 once its running. 700ish cc injectors, parallel rails, FPR, swirl pot with external pump etc.

I think everything is covered. Just hope it all comes together :|

new engine is in.... and just about ready to run.

Rolled the rear arches too... not the neatest of jobs so will need to paint the insides of them.

Old engine ready to be karted home and stripped/maybe rebuilt

Will have the old IHI VF24 turbo and one of my spare sumps up for sale soon too

initial mapping... 306bhp (dunno torque yet). 440cc injectors are max'd. 0.8bar of boost on 20G, full boost by 4200'ish rpm. Nice and revy engine.... but a bit funny sounding (piston slap)

Hmmm... might need to find some bigger injectors before snetterton and brakes, and better susp....
