So let me get this straight.

You are moaning about employees doing their job, in accordance with their "employer's" direction, doing that job well, and getting rewarded for that.

You a closet socialist per chance?

Just checking!
Indeed Simon. Their bonus is based on performance alone. They don't make the policy.

That's the whole concept of being an employee, not an employer. Something quite a few people posting on this thread appear to be struggling with.

Not quite sure what your point is, other than an attempt to be "clever" about the issue?

When the reality is that, and I can say this with a fair degree of conviction, this is an arena in which I am considerably more knowledgeable than you

I think one of the points that keeps getting missed here, is NR haven't made a profit yet, as the debt hasn't been paid off, it's the tax payers money that they are paying these bonuses

Oh FFS is the have an have nots again, personally they are welcome to it if they perform well. I wish performance related pay was a more common practice. 10% of what anyway if they are not being paid much 10% seems fair if they are really doing a good job.

Lets stop moaning about this country and acknowledge that maybe.. just maybe something positive has happened that will eventually benefit us all directly or indirectly. Personally I'd be happy to see a stable banking sector willing to offer loans to kick start the economy again

Mateeboy......

Spot on, I'm an NHS employee and would guess I have earned about £1,000,000 less than my mates who have decided not to be an NHS employee.

but I have a final salary pension scheme LOL

Problem is they seem to be getting a 10% bonus for not doing anything.

Before the issue with NR was that they were lending money to anyone with a pulse - After we bailed them out they've stopped lending to anyone.

10% bonus for stopping work.

Where do I sign up .

I personally don't see the problem - the NR staff are being given an incentive to pull out all the stops & pay back the taxpayer's money in the shortest time possible. Surely this is a good thing ?

So are we saying that none of these banks, NR included, have taken government handouts and then payed their top guys bonuses? Thought not.

And have any of the top guys who got the banks into this position through their greed and dishonesty been sacked? Gone voluntarily? Resigned? What, no again?

See, this is the sort of thing that boils the p*ss of someone like my lad who trained 4 years, and now has to sign on every 2 weeks for £95 a fortnight.

Of his gang of mates who didn't go to uni, only ONE is still in work
Apparently there are 7 applicants for EVERY job around here now, and more being thrown out of work every day. Even HGV drivers are losing their livelihood and 5 years ago were apparently suffering a shortfall of 30, 000 in that industry alone. Solved by Blair/McBroon lettting in Johnny Foreigner in droves.

Local to me, there are three major building projects, including two power stations and a huge dock. NOT ONE UK worker has been taken on............all Italian, Spanish and Eastern European.
Why? the companies that got the contracts were Italian, Spanish etc

WTF is UK PLC doing?

No need to get defensive, love.

We've established many times that you are more knowledgeable than me on a raft of subjects. Why would we expect this to be any different?

I'm sorry my point was lost on you.. I was just having some fun. I'll go and thrash myself to within an inch of my life as pennance
