I feckin' hate tailgaters, I used to live in Plymouth and had a few 'incidents' there over the years but then I moved to Brisbane.....**** me! The place is full of tailgaters! The Aussies are generally really nice, easy-going people but, put them behind the wheel of a vehicle and they go nuts.

i go slower if some1 tailgates me.... with the left foot slightly on the brake to light it up only.....
DONT try this if u r not used to left foot braking lol, as u mite end up putting a claim for whiplash as some1 mentioned..

I'm sure I posted on here at the earlier last year about being tailgated by a pikey in a van who thought that he didn't need to have a hand on the steering wheel, while talking on the phone, while about 4 foot from my bumper at about 55mph. I demonstrated my opinion of his driving skills, and he got rather upset indeed, suggesting that I might want to pull over. Oddly enough I didn't - not because I was worried about him.... but he had a ****ing great big German Shepard in the front with him. I fancied my chances against a pikey civvy, but the dog was a little more worrying, combat estimates and all that 
. Ended up reporting him to the cops for threatening behaviour and dangerous driving, and they went for a little chat with him.
I don't see any logic in tailgating at all; the fact that they seem to think it makes them drive faster just shows what uttery **** drivers they are - if they were even remotely competent, they'd know to sit further back to increase their field of view so that they could plan to take advantage of safe overtaking chances when they arise. But ho-hum. All we can hope is that they kill themselves in a ball of flaming death without taking anyone else not related with them.

coming home down the M5 tonight a classic example of 'impatient' driving and getting nowhere. Traffic in all 3 lanes rolling along at 70ish, coupled with fog etc. I'm in the middle lane, to my right in the fast lane theres an Audi A3 right up the ar8e of an astra, I've got some space in front of me so the astra pulls into the middle lane in front of me, without a moments hesitation the Audi puts his foot down and roars off to catch the car up in front only to slam the brakes on seconds later, then due to natural traffic conditions we in the middle lane happen to roll past him
