Version 3 & 4 are the same heads, swap the cams over you have, but they will need to be re shimmed/clearances checked.

All will need measuring and shimming, regardless as its been apart.
Its good practice to check.

you have wrx heads there..
sti has shims under the buckets not on top

I suspect they are wrx and therefore it is going to a lot of trouble to move the contents when they are the same

The markings were discussed and dismissed elsewhere.
Imho they are standard wrx or uk heads.

Ok, just to confirm then the shims for the buckets are on top or underneath?
Si, yes those markings were a red herring as discussed in the past, none the less matts cams have 2 lines therefore are v3/4....
Matt tbh it doesn't really matter as all you need at the mo is a head cast. When you get one post up a few pics.

Just a little warning Matt, if the cams are V4 sti and your running WRX buckets with ontop shims you run the risk of losing a shim at high rpm. But we will deal with that when we find out what buckets you have got.

they are not sti profiles though.. they have too short at duration.. assuming I am remembering the correct picture of them.
they are version 3 wrx imho..
it seems silly to pay lots for a head casing and go to the trouble of regrining the valves in and reshimming them when wrx heads are cheap as a complete set etc..

very good..
that head damage can be fixed with a timesert you drill the hole bigger and put a thread in it and then screw a timesert in which has a new thread in at the required side etc..

I obviously wasn't paying enough attention Matt.
Glad your builds on track now.....my concerns are now going to be your STI valvetrain.....as we do not know what you have got, from your last description it sounded like dribs and drabs from different scoobs.....
Your old cams look like V3/4 STI;s btw......maybe get pics of your buckets and shims up next inc springs and valve stamps..
