Default Here guv have a listen to what was recorded earlier

...........& you know he scored 40 points of a 15 handicap

The transmission was picked up at a golf club today but surely someone off a 15 handicap is playing really well to score 40 points & should be cut
Its not a Tiny amount of points and a slim chance that most of us could score 40 from a 15 handicap.

Now if we had a player like that i the ESC I reckon a 10 to 12 handicap would make it fair for everyone else

Default Get your second hand facts correct ;)

You boys

Actually it was 44 points of 15 , But was playing 3/4 Handicap so it was 40 points of 11 , or 7 over Gross

An opposition player also had a hole in one & still lost

But still a nice friendly practice game so unable to be cut anyway

Default Handicap Adjustment - General Play

Herts?

Taken directly from the Council of National Golf Unions

What is a ‘General Play’ adjustment?

A General Play change is a manual adjustment of a player’s handicap usually made by the Handicap Committee of a Club. These manual adjustments are required to be made when the player’s "Home Club considers that a player’s Exact Handicap is too high and does not reflect his current playing ability"

So a guess it's time the ESC handicap committee convene and review said bandits H/C

It is time for the handicap commitee to intervene here!

40 points off of 11

If it was an ESC event it would be 1 shot off for winning and 1 for every point over 36, so you would be looking at a handicap of 6 next time

As it wasn't an ESC event, the above rules don't come into play. However, as Neil rightly pointed out there is a general play adjustment, which in this case will have to be enforced! I am open to suggestions for the punishment, I mean adjustment, to the handicap in this situation. I would suggest that 2 shots are taken off of the original 15, 1 for winning away from home and one for scoring 40 points. Let me know what the general consensus is.

Paul, the committees decision is final. And as over time that has either been you or I, I agree fully agree a 2 shot cut is appropriate, and therefore this is unanimously carried

I'm sure in the interests of fairness Slim will agree.

Agreed and don't want to hear any wingeing, or it will be more

La Touquet will be interesting. Any more rounds like today and he will be out there on single figures

Hopefully, we can get another round in before then anyway to assess this new found talent he has.

Well Done Slim

Considering how little you have played, you are playing really well. the weight loss and extra fitness must be having a positive effect

28th is better for me.

Honestly, he played really well, Kev wasnt too shabby either!

The fact that Craig and I had a better ball score of 1 under par gross goes to show how much a bandit team we came up against. It goes along way to say that we only won that par 3 with the hole in one, as Kev would have won it with a net birdie otherwise.

We went from 2 up, to 3 down, back to 2 up and lost it on the 17th, with a birdie from me which was only good enough to half the hole....

About time Tiny had a realistic handicap now....
