Well it couls well be if that is the correct fitment of the aircon radiator that the alloy radiators are not compatible with cars fitted with aircon as that seems to be the cause of your fitment problem.

The air con rad is not the cause of the fitment problem !

I've just been out to try and see if I could make it fit. By removing the charcoal canister on the left of the engine bay I managed to get the rad to drop into the mounting holes at the bottom. It still sits backwards towards the engine slightly but could be pulled forwards and clamped up with the top mounts.

I've noticed 2 big problems with this now.

1) As we previously mentioned, the left fan has not got enough room so I tried just fitting the right fan. The 2 top holes for the bolts line up but the bottom ones don't so you would only have 2 little bolts holding the fan on.

2) There is absolutely no way that the front mount pipe will fit between the rad and the cam cover.

So,maybe this rad would fit if you have a certain type of fan and don't have a FMIC. It certainly will not fit my car.

I shall be asking Japspeed for a refund.

I have some photos that I will post up shortly.

Right, here's a few photos to show the problems:

Right rad fan top bolts line up:

Right rad fan bottom bolt holes don't line up:

Radiator fitted in place,as anyone with a FMIC will know there is no way the pipework will fit in that tiny gap and I hadn't even fitted the water hose !

Charcoal canister has to be removed as it prevents the rad from fitting correctly:

I'm going to send the rad back to Japspeed for a refund and will probably just replace it with a new standard rad, less hassle

No,it still wont fit as there just isn't the room as the rad itself takes up too much of the gap where the pipe would fit !

The air con has nothing to do with it. You wouldn't be able to have a FMIC with this rad unless the FMIC pipework was tiny.

The pipework would have to be so small to fit through the available gap that it would be no good,it would be far too restrictive.

Well as you can see in those pics the I/C pipework fits between the rad/engine and there's not enough room with the race rad

That's £1100 for a FMIC

I think i'd rather stick with my Hybrid FMIC and the standard rad

Thats fine if you want to send it back but it would be worth actually trying the radiator first as we have sold hundreds of these previously and that is the only one we have ever had problems with. It is more likely it was a manufacturing error with that radiator.

Regarding the FMIC fitting these radiators will fit fine. It is a bit of a tight fit and sometimes if you have 2 fans installed you have to trim the edge of the fan shroud but nothing brutal
