For god sake! A joke is a joke!
They fly about for every topic in the news!
If you can't have a laugh at something in the way it was intended, there is no need to accuse everyone of being a ''closet racist'' if they do!

The only reason you guys think its funny is because I'm guessing most of you are white...if a black person were to read this thread I think they would find the jokes a bit close to the bone and disgusting to say the least!

the original thread is not racist and nor are most of the comments,
its light hearted yes there is a fine line between something being funny and it being racist,
but this is not racist its a joke!
after all a spade is a spade!
i would like to think most black people would see this is light hearted humor and not take offence, but of course there would be people that do, and to me there the people that need to lighten up!

I think on the subject of his safety, he is at risk, but no more than Bush is, in fact probably less as he has not had a chance to p1ss anyone off other than Gun Totin Republican Redneck KKK types who, lets be realistic wont be as advanced as a lot of the other people who present threats to the president.
It would be tragic if he was assasinated as there is a lot of optimism about his tenure and America has, mainly, as a nation got behind him despite the traditional race issues and it has restored a little faith in the average American punter who chose to vote for him rather than voting for "not black".
He comes across as a very charismatic leader, I hope he gets to fulfil his term and promises.
I dont think anyone actually means to be racist on this thread, just trying to get a laugh, lighten up.

Why is everyone so convinced that Obama is going to be killed. He has the greatest protection of any person on the planet. Are you all suggesting that the secret services are going to turn the other way?
If they can protect GWB the most despised president in history, I'm sure they can look after him.

I don't agree with the racism in this thread first off. However, there are alot of sickos in the US (and around the world of course!) who are not happy about seeing "someone of colour" as the most powerful person in the world. I think some southern state nut job with a legal arsenal may get a little too close to him at some point...
He is half white of course, but no one seems to mention that...

Its almost an identical situation with Lewis Hamilton, half Caucasian and Half African genes and everyone focuses on the black bit and gets all racist, not talking about the posters on here but the Spanish GP fans and the American white supremacists. Its like people who go on about Gays, they aint going to stop being gay however many you insult or beat up, Black people will exist even if Mr Obama did get assisinated, a white Redneck with a gun, however good a shot is not superior to a bloke that has got to the Whitehouse, is jealousy part of the problem as much as stupidity, America has only been there a few hundred years as populated by white Americans, cant really see why they get so touchy, if anything the native American should be the ones with an issue, well if the whites hadnt killed most and stuck the rest on reservations they might.
I sometimes think there is some things that are wrong with Black culture as there is with white and I will say my piece but I am quite happy to express my happiness that Lewis Hamilton won the World Championship and that I am glad that Mr Obama won the election, I do think we should be able to express pleasure at the good and displeasure at the bad at any group without the racism card being played.

It's sad really: every thread on this forum has to be ruined by the scoobynet do-gooders and their pc antics. It must be a very exciting life you all lead to analyse every joke.
Obama is an improvement over bush...that's blatantly obvious. Mind you, a team of several apes would be an improvement on bush.

sorry... I thought the it said he saw the CSA
But seriously its a good question to ask, i wonder if he went.. 'OMG, your kidding, seriously..... no way, you are joking aren't you!!??'
Joking apart, it does make you think if he was ld anything he didn't know, or was he told things that he can sort out.
the other thing is, the guy is not black.
Even Aleysha Dixon in an interview on the radio said the same, 'he's like me, my mums white and my dads black, he's mixed race... not Black'.
so why is the focus on the black part?
Phil

Why is it that white people play the race card? My colleague at work is black and if I posted the stuff which he comes out with (about his own race) I'd be banned I don't get it at all! The only peeps who seem to get upset about racism are those who don't have the right, maybe it's just that they are just PC busy bodies?

Why is it you rarely see black people taking offence to a joke like the ones above.
It's always someone who thinks they need " speak up for someone else"
Tell you what.. STFU for a change and let the one that is actually offended have a say in it...

After all, many people had a problem with the 'humour' of Brand and Ross, yet you were quick to defend that, with some choice comments coming through from yourself. Most people probably brushed them off, but I would certainly say some of your 'jokes' or whatever, offended, regardless of your intention. Everybody's humour is different, and at times can be difficult to understand by others, but when we defend the right to have a laugh, we need to accept what is funny to one is not to another, but not take offence, just get on, unless of course it is completely out of order. Then speak out by all means, but keep in mind what we personally think is acceptable that others won't.
