As somosa's are on the menu stick me down.

Perhaps a meet at Shahenshah's in Southall will do the trick? Although I prefer the Rajput personally.

Happy Diwali to all!

Man, talking about sweets, I craved for this so much yesterday!>

But we have no sweets shops in the rural I fancied driving to Manchester to get some, but I jacked the idea in. Instead, I made my own Gajar Halwa and Barfi thingies. I made a special effort to make some lavish vegetarian foods, and enjoyed the day

Hope you guys in London had a real good time

That's because Turbohot has been here for a while, and she has talked some serious non-stop bollocks in Muppets at one point

I can not make Rasmalai with no right ingredients. You have to split the milk with something "something", in order to make the spongy rasgulla bits. GB ain't hot enough to split the milk and let it get all curdy in a tea towel hanging to the kitchen ceiling

Anyway, Manchester sweets shops are a serious rip off these days. I bought about 8 micro pieces of mithai and 6 Rasmalai portions two weeks ago. It cost me 7 squids! Therefore, I shall be making my own sweets mosta time now

I used to, when I lived in London. I used to go to Euston, to eat Masala Dosa too. Now, I don't fancy 8 hours round trip to Southall, just to buy Gulabjamuns I will get there one day to invite myself to "Apne" meet with Tina, Guv and all Make sure you get your holy butt there too then, Schuey

Sounds like a plan to me! Will be great to meet you all over samosas

And, when you have reached your target of a grand (or two, you decide) you, Tina and the gang are welcome to North Wales. You will like the twisties, the police cameras, the sheep- the lot!

Here you go, now this is the quickest method and allows you to make them at super speed.

INGREDIENTS:
For Malai:
1/2 gallon Whole Milk
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice or Vinegar.
2 Cups Sugar
Water
For Ras:
Evaporated Milk 2 Tins
Sugar
Saffron few strands

METHOD:

In a heavy bottomed pan cook milk and bring it to boil.
When it starts boiling add lemon juice and stir continuously until the milk curdles completely.
-Let it cool and set completely. Drain using muslin or cotton cloth using as much strength. (wash the paneer to remove the lemon flavor from it. To do it slowly drain it in muslin cloth and when doing it hold it under running water with your hands running thro the paneer)
-Place a heavy weight on this to drain away all the excess water for about 7 mins. Note- there should be no water left else the panner ***** will break when put in sugar water.

-Now put the above in the food processor and run it. You will first see the paneer break into small pieces and then it slowly forms a whole lump just like chapathi dough. slowly form small round ***** out of it.

Meanwhile in the pressure cooker add 1 cup of water along with 1 cup of sugar. When the sugar melts in the water add just 10 paneer ***** keeping a good distance between each of them and pressure cook for 2 whistles. Repeat the process untill all is done adding little sugar and water as required for each batch.

In another pan heat the evaporated milk with sugar and saffron and bring it to boil.
To this add the above sugar malai ***** draining them slightly.
Chill for a few hours and enjoy.

Now you have the know how, you going to make us some for the 'Apna Scoob Meet'?

Star of a job, Baly! Thanks for offering this quick recipe. I shall try it in the next few days, after this lot of sweets I made is finished.

As for making some for the meet, you are on
When you come for the meet in the Sheepland you all can have some curry and mithais made by myself.

Your welcome TH glad i could be of some assistance, let me know what they taste like.

I'm now wondering if Guv could possibly persuade #Tina Oh Tina There Varga Hor Koyee Nah# to make the Rasmalais for the London 'Apna Scoob Club' meet.

TH If we ever arrange one in Sheepland we shall let you know, but will possibly cost me £200 pound in fuel alone there and back (on goes the vapour mask).

Sure.

I know, as one of my friends join a Welsh meet I organised. His name is Cookstar, and he lives in Essex. It must have cost him enough to get to Wales, although he never mentioned it. Luckily, I could arrange accommodation and first night meal for free (I cooked it ), so it wasn't too bad on anyone's pocket. That mini meet only involved less then 5 people together. But if the "Apne" one comes out to be voluminous, a few of you may have to share the cars to get here, and split the fuel cost. No need to make a point of bringing your individual scoobs. We will believe that you have one Accommodation etc. can be sorted for cheapo too.

I shall deffo make an "Apne" meet in London, to see you
"Apnes" one day

I've heard about these Saturday night meets, but having popped along to Grant Way/GC a couple of weekends ago could not see any sign of any Impreza's.

Do these meets really happen?

I am sure Tina wil be along to explain soon, as I think she should be working out at the gym right about now...

Right just thinking about this, wouldn;t it be better for you to come down here rather than all of us come up there to you...i'm sure your hospitality would be 1st class. But then again if we look at this as in if you just came down here we could all chip in for a lavish hotel for just you.... and still have loadsa money left over..just a thought.
