Fair play to you mate. Nice to see a youngster with a proper project rather than stick on chavvy bling bling rubbish from Halfords Judging by everything you've bought you're going in the right direction.

I'm part way through a big power build and it gets frustrating at times. Stick with it the rewards are tremendous when it gets fired up and runs for the first time

hi, almost got the engine out to day but that last bolt , it one of the engine mount ones's and its completely rounded i tried hammering on a 13mm socket but it wasnt for going on, any ideas on what i could do would really help as i borrowed the straps to lift the engine out off my mate and i need to get them back to him by sunday

if you have a welder then stick a bigger nut on top and fill the centre full of weld let it cool and then start wrenching on it

did this on my bro's ctr when we changed his rear brake discs and a nut was rounded.

Just attack it with a chisel and split the nut or preferably get a cutting disc on a dremmel and get it started off then split it.

Even if you harm the thread on the mount you can always get another mount.

Or (can't remember if there's access to) unbolt the engine mount off the engine and lift it out then attack the nut later.

If gearbox and engine have been together for sometime then they can be a bitch to seperate. Just to clarify you have removed the clutch fork pivot haven't you?

If you have then its probably coroded dowls thats stopping it from coming apart.

Sometimes you have no option but to be heavy handed and use either a screwdriver or chisel between the box and the engine. From the top of the engine try and hammer a screwdriver down each side where the bell housing meets the block.

One thing I would say here is make sure you have definately removed all the bolts/nuts and that it is only the dowls keeping the two together.

to port the throttle body i used assorted shaft mounted grinding stones and a 60mm flap wheel then just cleaned it up with wet 'n' dry and finished it off with metal polish.

Looking good
If your budget will streatch have you thought about a set of STI 3/4 heads?

John Stevenson is selling a set on 22B for a very reasonable price especially if you want to build it up yourself you could get a bargain

Good build mate. Hope all goes to plan. Like said before, nice to see that your doing everything properlly and not just sticking a bleed valve on, winding up the boost up for 5 minutes till it all goes pete tongue

Stick with it, should be nice end product
