I would hope you have read the full thread and our earlier comments which were taken straight from the latest Datasheets available from Millers, i think we have investigated the product range fairly well and indeed have spoken to Millers ourselves to establish that the products (whole range) are suitable to our client base and that claims such as those made by harj are unsubstantiated. We like to think that we thoroughly check all of our suppliers to ensure the best range for our customers as i am sure you always do. We did not intend to offend so please accept an apology but please also accept that the comments i made were based on the facts in front of me and questions raised earlier in thread.

If you were selling Pro-Boost im sure you could defend them too if they had bad ratings in the Octane level! Im first to admit that when ive used Millers in the past it felt great, so much smoother and even torquier but you have to remember the size and look of a bottle shouln't be the only selling point.

This is a BBS where anyone can subject their comments openly! Running on SUL is enough unless youve got a remap or running track days.

Have any of you lads seen the Jap Octane Boosters if you knew about them you would be horrified by the way it makes Millers look like a 2 year old

We would indeed defend any product we sell if we felt it was receiving unfair criticism. Remember we do not even sell this product at the moment, just defending what we have learnt to be adequate for the job. I am happy to run this product in my Skyline and also my Cosworth. I can assure you that with both cars running over 500BHP that i am not looking for a product to make my engine go BANG as you so politely put it! This would prove to be very costly.Still this is a BB where everybody is entitled to their opinion and i respect yours even if i don't agree with it

I agree with Jason/Amber, Harj stop talking out of your ar$e again.

The cars that run Millers on a regular basis, do so because of the modifications they run. The 22B that you drive doesnt need to run millers due to the way that it has been mapped.

Danny you knobber my old Red Rex was Extremely Highly tuned and running 1.4 bar which made it one of the fastest Scoobs there is and I never put octane Booster in it! It was mapped for 97 with the Unichip and I was reccomended to use Millers, I never used it and nothing went wrong even with my 45 min Non Stop stint at Donington on Full Boost!

To me Octane Booster is great but what I don't understand is why all these muppets use it everyday???? Even people with UK Impreza's use it daily? waste of money in my opinion, If youve got an Import! get it checked out by a tuner to make sure its not detting with SUL and then no need for Booster. I also know of several highly tuned Scoobies that don't use Booster either cus its not needed!

I have done this with 3 cars and all 3 didn't need Booster when modded or standard, Dan the 22B is recomended to use Booster but I haven;t cus its got a Knock Link and never knocks so why use it.

I think the argument was Millers anyway, OK you win. MILLERS IS THE BEST OCTANE BOOSTER IN THE WORLD AND I LOVE IT

Budgie, Richbay for those of you who haven't seen his pushbike lately, my Cossie went bang a lllllllllooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggg time ago as you know and at the time it was running purely on SUL without any additives, the failure being due to the head gasket. Still 3 years of constant abuse at trackdays , magazine shoots and the open road with 450BHP (as it was then ) isn't bad going. When it does hit the road again with the new power output the old additives will be used.

Anyway have you managed to string together 2 consecutive days of trouble free motoring in your scoob yet - may be putting the lid in with Octane booster didn't help!!!

Sure, no problem, I am conscious that things need to be done correctly and researched this area extensively over a period of time, this was all covered in threads some time back now but was covered 'in depth'.

I ran occasionally forget to put octane booster in my car, when I do forget, I can tell by the dramatically increased activity of my Knock Link that there is none there, the car is not as smooth, responsive and the fuel consumption goes up.

<I>Take care when putting the Millers Octane + into your filler neck..... it's quite easy for the cardboard insert in the cap to stay on the neck of the bottle and then find its way into your tank. (Nearly done it myself a couple of times).</I>

When I had my WRX on Power Engineerings rollers on 97 ron SUL, it was detting as it came on boost, and was retarding the ignition 2 degrees to stop it.
Since using millers, it's been back on the rollers and guess what? No detting or ignition retardation. Smoother on the road too. I'd recommend millers every time.

Seems the concensus is with the product. We appreciate all opinions as it is important to get a broad view, having said that 'a broad view' put Labour in charge last time round!!
