Aaquil, investing in banks currrently does involve risk

joking aside why can you not just get a normal current type account that pays no interest, your money would gain nothing but remain the same, what you would then need to weigh up is would the watch return the same or less than that?

The other thing to remember Aaquil is that though a bank acct gives say 7% interest gross ie lets say 4% net, inflation is 4.8% so really you are not gaining anything. Can't that be taken into acct in your beliefs?

What happens to the premium on these luxury/waiting list watches when there is a significant economic downturn?

I dont know of any that have sold for £6000, but I know of 5 that made £4600.

Its depends on who wants it, and how bad.

Certain people will happily pay double / triple RRP just to have the watch NOW, thats how it is.

I suppose its as Yoza says, they are going for as much as what people are prepared to pay. Yes there are some on there for 4k but the bidding has'nt finished also there are some on there for 9.5k If they sell at them prices is another matter. If you are lucky you may get a 4k ebay bargain but watch shops are selling for around 6k
