sonds more lik icv to me. try pushing the tip into the valvemore engin should rev more or pull it out slightly and carefully and engin should slow down if its not working and stay at the revs its at just to get going..... or maybe ceased up a little id put some wd40 into in to it and gently move it in an out to free it off as this is the only place air can get into engin and can run with butterfly valve totaly closed its just to by pass air through just if icv is stuck it will just rev to amount of air passing through it

same happened on my saxo vst along time ago am sure

shall have a look but when i cleaned it, it seemed to move perfectly smoothly. where is the best place to get ICV gaskets from, would they sell them at local motor factors at all?

mmm well maybe its just fried then cos in my understanding of it if thats too far open and bust engin will rev and then confuse the tps thus will confuse the ecu saying why is the engin reving when tps is closed??? just try puling it out a bit and when you replace it it will be closed position just make sure it is out enogh to touch the hole its supposed to be bloking on the by pass ,,, think gaskets will be dealer parts but for now i would just make one out of card board tempary,,,

or if you have icv in your hand and push it all way in and get a mate to turn on ingnition it should move back out then that will rule this part out...

and on mine there is no gasket between icv and throttle body its an o ring so putting a gasket there will make it rev,

Righty then, surely if a card gasket works a used gen one would work? anyway, i shall try the ICV to see if it is stuck in the wrong position or something, i also have the new ones of tps and icv on the way! (well second hand but definatly fully working)

oh just remember something, i took the top half of the icv of (curious) and its a magnetic top part that can be adjusted on the swcrew fittings? twisting that round (thought it would adjust) does nothing, is there any reason this bit may cause a problem?

its just a solinoid valve dont think it can be adjusted as ecu just controls the amount of travel may not of been a good idea to be courios to do that i dont think these like being tampered with at the best of times think i did same thing on my saxo wen trying to find faults.. like i say its an o ring gasket so the two faces of icv and throttle body meet up face to face with no gap.. are yousure the old o ring hasnt come off and stuck in the hole???? if it is it will not close as its an obtruction between by pass hole and tip of icv

If you have had the top off the icv which is arrowed, it will need adjusted. Loosen the two screws on the top, turn anti-clockwise too lower the idle.

After you obtain the correct idle, give the engine a rev to 3kish, if you find the revs drop slowly as it returns to idle, you have adjusted it too far.
