correct and for that reason it is pointless to use on Sn for me. The quick links and search area is the most widely used bits for me

Also you cant hit control b to make your type bold on the fly etc

Competition is good. The best ideas will make it into FF and IE eventually. It moves the game along. I don't see why it should be a problem, as long as it's standards compliant.

Competition is good. Too much competition isn't. We already have enough browsers out there. IE, FF, Safari, Opera etc (and the numerous versions of each). How many more do we really need? It just makes it more confusing for the consumer, and makes it more expensive to write software for (because we have yet another platform to support).

It's already been stated it will have a load of "enhancements" built in to work with the google online applications. So, whilst it may be w3c compliant on the html side, the rest will be pure google (much like the non-standard MS stuff that everyone has been moaning about for years).

Just downloaded Chrome and it wont load some pages that IE7 loads quite easily , Didn't seem any faster either ,And it didn't import all my favourites. I don't like FF, So I'll stick with IE for now. Been more than happy with it since 7 was released.

We had a black 307 in the street last week with a 6ft pole and cameras sticking out the top. I wonder if it was google?

I trust everyone's seen this: Burned by Chrome | The Register

That's a beta condition of service. They can't possibly let that stay.

Hm... are they seriously suggesting that they don't get their license agreements thoroughly checked by lawyers before they get published?

A contract term like that isn't something that just slips through because nobody bothered to check first; their response reads to me like "oh, sh*t, somebody HAS noticed, we'd better apologise and take it out otherwise nobody will use the browser at all".

Better that then they try to defend it, I guess. Maybe a world ruled by Google instead of Microsoft actually would be a slightly better place...

They knew what they were doing. I wont ever user their browser now because of this sneaky tactic.

I think the EULA referred to services, so probably google sites / applications. Google own everything you submit to them anyway - all your searches are analysed and a profile about you is built up.

There's a world of difference between using the search keywords that I choose to submit to their site, and claiming ownership of everything I submit using their software, though.

This is exactly why I'll never use Chrome and never use Google. I've even blocked all google analytics & related scripts. Presumably Chrome has the ***** google toolbar spyware built into it.
