Cool - I was meant to be picking a mate up from Hounslow too but just found out he's not coming so taking my old man instead. This might make me a bit later than planned, but keep an eye out on the way down!

Just got back - awesome fun! Ricky and K18LLR's were running real sweet but I'll let them announce their results...

Made 267.5hp and 270ftlb so pretty chuffed with that. At least I now know it's a Prodrive map not an Ecutek so can start building from there. Feel free to send recommendations guys!

Photos have come out really good so I'll have a little fiddle with them and stick em up tomorrow.

Great morning as usual with MSOC & others at Surrey Rolling Road Special thanks Chris from Surrey Rolling Road, excellent efficent job; Neil & Omar from Slowboy Racing for organising day & Mr & Mrs Budgie, came along to just support MSOC members.

Everyhting went smoothly with approx 20 cars; temp was nice & cool & nice group of friendly people with differing cars, not just Scoobys. I did the videos & Shiver & K8LLR did most of the pics. Managed to get a few vids before I left at lunchtime, will post up vids gradually as I get time.

Not had the car on rollers since I bought it 6 months ago so wanted to know what bhp & torque it was producing & if map looked good. Most Litchfied, Powerstation generic mapped Spec C's are meant to produce approx 320bhp & thats what i would have been happy with or there abouts.

Though Chris from Surrey Rolling Road did warn me that the rollers at Powerstation are of a different type & always read differently from his. Not that one is right & one is wrong its just how each is designed I imagine. Surrey Rolling Road ones read lower & they have never had a Std Spec C measured more than approx 310bhp. So I lowered my excpectations & hoped between 300 to 315bhp. Only engine mods I have is Blitz backbox (otherwise std exhaust 2.5") & Hyperflow top mount intercooler, with Litchfield std UK fuel map.

My 3 quick runs later..................
YouTube - Subaru- MSOC Surrey Rolling Road-Slowboy Racing 25/10/08 Pt2

To say I was happy was an understatement!! And so was Chris from Surey Rolling Road!! Now exscuse me but I must quote his exact words just for my own satisfaction!!!!!!!

" As std its rare for them to make that much "...."that engine was smoooth & car ran like a pussycat on the rollers, didnt move & hardly made a sound"!! " the engine was strong & with no mods & just remap I could easliy see a lot more torque (which wasnt that high) & bhp upto approx 345 to 350bhp as is"

Pardon my modesty!!!

Anyway I also met Neil from Slowboy Racing who organised day & he offered great, helpful advice & had a quick look at my RR Printouts. He also agreed that torque & power could be easliy improved as there is a flat spot at top end, something to do with AFR!! I leave that to the technical geniuses to analyse the maps!! So very useful & fun morning out that has given me info on which direction to go in, in terms of engine mods next year:

-Decat down pipe mated to my existing 2.5" system with my Blitz Nur Spec backbox.
-K&N filter element
-Maybe 3 port boost solenoid
-Remap with new mods & hope for approx 370bhp

Thanks to all organisers for great day out

Not enough, only 311 lb/ft IIRC. Need to get remapped next year as & just found out from Webmaster- Shaun that fueling too rich also.

Checked my graph Ricky and mine makes 342 bhp and 330 lb/ft.
That's on a 3 inch Milltek catted system, standard solenoid and standard filter (although I now have a K+N).
I know it's a generic "safe" map, but is 370 really achievable with just the mods you're describing?
If so group-buy on mapping? I'm sure Guv will be in, his is really slow

With the Powerstation stg 1 type of uprgrade:
K&N filter; Miltek 3" sports cat system; 3 port solenoid; live remap-
355 to 365 bhp seems easily achievable with good torque figures.

The main thing is I seem to have gained approx 20bhp with the top mount Hyperflow Intercooler. (my backbox wont do anything & Also as Shaun corrected me, the map on my car is not a powerstation live remap, but just their UK safe fuel map. Hence why its probably rich/safe/& not designed with big bhp numbers). So with 327bhp now on modest map & quite a bit of margin to increase figures with only a remap, I would imagine 345bhp as is, should be possible. But if I also do the filter; 3 port solenoid & go for a Decat downpipe (should produce more bhp than high flow cats), then that I would imagine should take me to 370bhp.

I have seen a few spec c's with the Powerstation said upgrades on a standard top mount & high flow cats (not decat), producing approx 365 bhp.
Ah well thats the theory, but that doesnt take into account the fact that Iv got as much technical knowledge as a bafoon!!!
