Refused Pain killers.
just covering their ar$es, thats what this country has come to, some div loads up and half kills themselves and tries suing some **** for selling them to him....what a weird world we live in unfortunatley.
Why are moaning about the symptom Pete?
Look at the root cause, to solve the problem.
If you didnt drink, then you wouldnt get a hangover, and therefore wouldnt need to stock up on painkillers!!!
The fact that your hangovers are so bad, is your body's way of telling you its not happy,
One day it wont be paracetamol you need!!!!
Mart

For the record, i agree its cack, i wanted to buy 4 packs of ibruprofen, (holidays
) no we can only serve you 2 you may overdose, on an anti inflamatory ffs lol
Paracetamol on the other hand is a killer.

We still sell it in our branch. I'll check tomorrow.

Mart..........Go to the chemist and you can buy 100 Ibuprofen in a pot. that's what I do. Get the generic one and it's half the price of Nurofen.
In any over the counter situation like this, it's against the law to sell any more than 32 paracetamol/asprin products in total.
It may seem frustrating, as the majority of people probably have no intention of harming themselves, but rules are rules, and the assistant was merely doing her job, by refusing te sale. I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure if she had broken that law, she would be personally accountable, not the store, so I for one don't blame her. Shop assistants have to be so careful, sticking to these rules in case of spot checks and mystery shoppers.
It's not too different from the sale of knives/aerosols/age restricted products i.e. films or games. Whilst most normal people even below the applicable age wouldn't use any of these items for harm, there has to be some restrictions in place to try and protect. Yes it's frustrating when you can't get what you want, and don't see why, but laws are laws, no matter how stupid some of them seem.

We have laws that make it illegal to stab people with a knife, if you have a knife and you're not stabbing somebody with it I don't see the problem. Let's be honest if you're sufficiently messed in the head to think stabbing somebody is OK, you're not going to worry about Tesco refusing to sell you a knife, you'll just nick it.
My wife and I had this once when we went shopping. I simply grabbed the third pack of tablets and said 'She's paying for that lot, and I'll pay for these'. Flummoxed her for a moment, but she couldn't see anything wrong with it and put it through!
When my ex tried to top herself she tried to do it on anti-depressants rather than paracetamol.
Surely though, when they kicked in, she should have been really happy and not wanting to die?
I'm not joking either (for once).

I was cooking for a BBQ organised by the Wife's work.
Nothing Fancy - Burgers, Sausages, Bread Roll, Various Sauces.
The HSEQ **** put up a big sign stating that the BBQ food may contain nuts.
Now I have a question. Given that there were no nuts in the ingredients why didn't the HSEQ **** put up a sign saying it may also contain dog turd, cat **** or seagull jizz

I don't see a problem in restricting the amount of meds they can sell, every year in the UK there are between 30,000 & 40,000 cases of Paracetamol overdoses reporting to A&E departments.
Which accounts for 48% of all poisoning admissions, when you look at it like that it makes perfect economic sense to restrict over the counter sales.
