your not wrong there ..

still seems no answer from the organiser , to clear up how the payment will work ..

dont fancy just leaving my card numbers with the trader and letting them fill in the ammount (not that the trader would rip people off , its just not the done thing)

I need these for a 93 RA with Alloy bonnet, what is the issue with fitting to this particular bonnet.
"(May not be suitable for Classic 1992-2000 Imprezas with aluminium bonnets)."

thanks

the only issue is with carbon/frp/alloy is the tightening of the bracket as long as u are carefull and dont go at it with a huge socket and tighten to the point of being secure but not either cracking the frp/carbon or bending the lightweight ally bonnets thats all
i put some on a carbon rx7 bonnet and it was fine same with most things if something is lightweight its normally more fragile..just give the company a ring ime sure they will explain

Hopefully this will clear up any confusion as this is the reply to the e-mail I sent to Scott Lowe with reference to the payment questions.

Hi Simon,

We can take order details at any time but payment will not be physically taken until we know the final price, we take details over the phone/online but process them manually. If we get 20 orders then obviously we have hit the biggest discount and so can proceed without any confusion.

One other thing to mention, we can accept credit card, debit card or paypal.

Many thanks,
Scott.

There seems to be over 20 folks interested in this group buy so as long as there are 20 CONFIRMED orders we will get them at the 20% reduction and free P+P rate. If people are not willing to leave their card numbers and be charged later then thats their decision.

The final price is dependant on the amount of confirmed orders, thats the deal the trader agreed to. If still unsure please call Scott Lowe who will confirm the arrangement.

I phoned Scott yesterday, and he said that apart from an e-mail (presumably the one mentioned by wolfie28) no-one has cpntacted him.

To recap: basically if you want to take advantage of the GB you need to call Scott Lowe and tell him that you want the dampers, and give him your credit/debit card details. Once he has the orders he'll set a price according to how many have contacted him.

So get phoning.

Wink Get ordering folks

OK folks, if your interested in this group buy please order as soon as possible so that we will all then know how much we'll all be paying.

15 orders = £66.12.
20+ orders = £62.23.

Spoke to Scott today to order mine and only 1 other person has ordered.

The price cannot be confirmed until the required/agreed numbers have been achieved.

The world is full of people who express an interest, and even sign up - then go no further.

The whole point of a group buy is to obtain an item at a reduced price through a bulk order. The problem here is that the price is not guaranteed and you could phone up and leave your credit card and then pay full price. I personally dont need these until around Feb but am prepared to
purchase now if there is the 20% discount but not if it is less as I would be as well waiting until I need them and order at full price having used the money for this elsewhere.
I also understand the retailers position that they need the volume sales to be able to give the price detailed.
Catch 22 me thinks

One solution is for Scott lowe to agree to take peoples details and card numbers etc but take no money until we know how many are definately buying and then we can make a decsion based on price. I for one do not need these enough to gamble on the price its 20% discount or they are no use to me.

Well thanks for the support guys

I take time out to sort something for the benefit of the Subaru community. If you not interested or have reservations pull out - SIMPLE. I've done all I can do get the best deal possible - potentially 20% off with free P+P.

NO payment will be processed until the order numbers have been confirmed. If orders do not meet the agreed number for the discount, people can pull out if they wish and they won't be charged a penny. Hopefully this will also assure folks that they won't be charged the full amount.

Put yourself in the traders position - 20 people put their name down, he gets the stock in at his expense and then when it comes to payment time "oh I don't need them anymore" is the loud reply. Look what happened with the fuel protest convoy. 280 put their names down and ONLY 25 TURN UP . Traders have to protect themselves too.
