You can pay for your 3 / 4 piece now... and the air-con at a later date. Postage is still £8 .... I will post the air-con free of charge
Does this mean that my 2 piece set is ready?

Regards

Yes I will post up when we have perfected the air-con pullys , as above these are not as simply as we first thought so these will take time...... but not too worry we arn't going anywhere .

Jon ,

Sounds like you have a similar pump to a bugeye

Not a easy pulley to remove ..... if you search my first groupbuy I think there is instructions there . If you can't find them drop me a pm

To keep this updated . I now have another prototype ready for testing tomorrow.

The problem was the magnetic wasn't strong enough to go through the alloy and the steel to pull the clutch in .... I have now redesigned it and fingers crossed should have better luck .

All other pulleys are in stock , Just pm me with what you want

Right, we are back on with this now .

I shall have another prototype on my car over the weekend, and if all goes well ...which i'm sure it will these will be with you soon.

I stopped the groupbuy halfway through to stop everyone having ago at me ...lol .

But you can now carry on adding your names as you wish...

Just a quick note that the newage air-con pulleys will be ready first then the classic's a week or so after

Default Another update

Right ..... this is where I currently where i am with these ...... IN LIMBO!

This is how it works , to help everyone understand.

When the air-con is turned on it activates a magnet which pulls the front plate into the pulley and sticks them together , this then turns a spline in the centre and makes the air-con work.

We made the pulley body from alloy and bolted a steel plate to the front . When we done this the magnet wasn't strong enough to go through the alloy , the steel plate and pull the front plate in.... we had to get the front plate to .3mm away before it even started to grab the plate..... this is no good.

So my plan last week was to make this ....

A alloy outer part... and a complete steel inner part .....

Now I was totally shocked when this didn't work either That's what I said last week I was so sure they would work fine ..... puzzled

Anyway,.... the next day we added some large holes in the pulley to see if it would pick up better ...

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0570.jpg

Still a no - go !

We put the oem pulley back on and when we turned the air-con on it picked up from about 5mm away! And thats ho they have to be!

So what am I missing???

I now know,..... it is somthing either to do with the material the stock pulley is made from or it has some kind of coating on?? I am looking into both but if anyone on here has any ideas i'm all ears!

I do know one way it will work 100% though,.... and that would be if we panned out the cetntre of a oem pulley and do the same as about the alloy outer part

Daft suggestions,,,,,

1. Can you investigate the magnetic properties of the original ?

2. Can you demagnetise / magnetise the new item to aid the "bite" ?

3. A pretty cover ?

LOL

DunxC

P.S. If I ring you tomorrow can I progress my order for all the other bits for now ?

Sure no problem.

I haven't given up on these , I actually removed the steel part to day and had that on the shaft with out the pulley part and it works ok ....

Do iron filings stick to the plate ?

This would show it has been magnetised to increase the "pull-in" force !

No update just yet ..... sorry for the delay guys, I have been flat out and finding it to get stuck into these again . Hopefully I can have a look the weekend I may go and make a copy of the stock pulley - it "may" have something to do with the pattern on the front .

Sorry Guys,

Still struggling with this one. Haven't given up though.... just finding it hard to get spare time to work on it as we are really busy... as soon as I get a spare day I will try and get it sorted .

No one wants to get this sorted more than me
