Stu, please don't think I am being picky, but I am curious as to why we have to wait for an upgrade to fix the go to last post issue.
I know the board is heavily customised and I know the issue lies in the templates, but my point is that it was working up until 6 weeks ago on the same version of the software. So why can you just not reverse whatever change has been made to the templates or whatever that has caused this problem?

To quote IB Admin from this topic:
From the technical side:
I'd like to install a new version of vBulletin. In fact, I intend to. However, ScoobyNet is *HEAVILY* customized. Upgrading vBulletin involves (among other things) going through the templates and porting old customizations to the new version's templates. With all the customizations here, that's a really big project. It isn't going to happen overnight.
The "jump to last post" problem was examined by the vBSEO team, and they reported it's because of a template problem. I intend to correct that problem by upgrading (see above.)
It's not my decision alone (running the site is a team effort), but I'm not real fond of user infractions, and I intend to get the situation reviewed. I can't say if they will stay or go but I've given my input already.
There is a new version of IBSearch with some bugfixes and I'll be deploying it here. IBSearch is responsible for keeping search traffic off the main DB, which is a huge help. It also lets you search for terms like "K&N" which the vBulletin stock search won't find.
We're looking at the hardware situation to see if it's time for an upgrade.

Forgive me as I am not having a dig, delighted to see you guys here, but I work on web software and just can't get my head round how this suddenly stopped working and can't be fixed.
If you don't want to say or don't know then fair enough, can't blame me for asking though

Yes and I read that but it doesn't answer my question does it? It worked before so why does it not work now?

I personally don't know, hence why i quoted a man who does. I guess he is saying there is no point him doing a job twice as the upgrade will overwrite all the faulty templates anyway. Its probably a simple priority issue that will come into play when you have to work on 100 of the worlds biggest forums day in day out and have more pressing issues to resolve.

Some parts of the forum construct links like this:
https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ml#post8261395
And some like this:
https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...last-post.html
The former works, the latter doesn't.

So if you go to the Scoobynet General forum here:
Subaru Impreza forum
and click the little blue buttons with the white arrows at the right of each thread you get the last post? I don't. I get the first on the first page.
If I do this from the front page:
Subaru forum - ScoobyNet
it works correctly and that is the difference between my 2 links above.
