I was planning on buying some replacement pads BUT 3rd trackday in a row now and still no need to change the Pads (DS2500) there is enough life left for one or even two more trackdays.
Translated in money talk, it means that buying the kit is now saving me money as normal pads dont survive more than 2 trackdays with me (and that ignoring warped discs...)!

At the end of the day, the pedal had gone a bit softer, nothing unexpected after 150 miles of bedford autodromme but could still trigger ABS when requiered. Amazing.

I might sound like a shill giving some free advertisement for Ian kits, but I'm just genuinely impressed by how good those brakes can take track punishment.

Thanks.

Hi Ian. How does your 335mm brake kit compare to brembo's with the same disc and pads, as i'm looking to upgrade my brakes on a 2006 wrx. Are you still doing them for £550, do you do a grooved disc for the rear that fit standard rear caliper.

Cheers Stuart.

Hi Stuart
Yes our 335mm kit will work better than the Brembo set up , as our discs are a larger diameter and are thicker , a thicker disc can take more heat , and a larger diameter disc offer more leverage for the calipers , we use a similar sized pad in our kit to the brembo pads , which is about 15mm wider than a standard subaru shape pad , and they fit behind the WRX wheels whereas the brembo's wont.
Yes I can still offer you the kit for £550 , and our grooved rear discs to fit your car are £109 a pair , P&P is £15.
I have all these on the shelf for next day delivery
Cheers Ian

Question

Hi Ian.

I have fitted the Subaru OEM 4-pots on the front of my MY1993 Classic.

Do you have the 335mm brake kit to suit these too, available? If so, is it the same price i.e. £550? (would that be inclusive of VAT and p&p?).

Presumably, the kit comprises of:-

- 2 x 335mm vented discs (are they grooved? If so, how many per side?)
- 4 x 15mm-deeper pads
- caliper extender hub brackets
- caliper spacers(?)
- nuts, bolts, washers, sundries

Is this correct?

My wheels are 17" x 7J, with an offset of ET47.

Thank you.

Hi Joz
Yes its the same kit , the kit is £550 inc with just P&P of £15 to add , yes the kit includes all in your list , we can supply the discs with either 6 curved grooves per face , or our new grooved design in the pic.

As long as you have the 4 pots under your wheels now , they will still fit with out kit as the calipers get no closer to the spokes.

Cheers Ian

Yes, this is the case, so no probs there.

They look nice. However, is it purely cosmetic, or do they work a little better than the continuous grooved ones (due to being slightly more friction area to the surface of the discs?).

I'm assuming, though, any benefit either way, is negligible?

The grooves are about the same length in total , but the shorter grooves would make the discs stronger for serious abuse , and they look nicer

Ian, seems like i might be needing new discs. That pic you have put up looks interesting if the price is right....how much for them to go on the front of my Sti with brembo (gold caliper) set up

Those particular discs are for the OEM 4-pot 'big brake' upgrade and are 335mm dia. What dia. are the Brembo ones?

Plus the calipers are pushed out further (I think) with spacers, so that disc may not centre in your Brembo's calipers anyway

Ian, is that correct?

Hi Ian, would the discs be okay to use with the pads that are on the rears at the moment?

Thanks,

Yes the discs will work with any pads , when you fit old pads to new discs , put some sand paper or emery cloth on a flat surface and rub the pads on them to flatten them off as they will have worn to the shape of the old discs.

I'm after a set front and rear disc's for a 2001 WRX Bugeye.
I have new EBC Ceramic pads already, would the 12 month anti-warp warranty be valid, or would I have to use pads supplied by yourself?

My current front discs have hair line fractures, i'm told due to heat and warping. There grooved but not drilled, worn but far from worn out. I have no idea what brand the discs are as they were fitted when I purchased the car but can only assume that they are ''cheap'' ones. I don't want to replace the discs for it to happen again.

Would this be covered under the warranty?
