Managed to get a set of coilovers ordered this morning - They should make the rear end a bit quieter - was told that mine are the worst that the guy had ever seen!!!!!
Hopefully just made the group buy price?
And to confirm - Newage (2003) 100 PCD road car - I assume they will be 5/4s with rear camber adjustment and long adjuster thingies?
Many thanks

Bren,
I placed an order today for a 2003sti 100pcd.
5/4 springs, adjustable top mounts front and rear, and long adjuster things.
Just posting on here to make things tidy-and I get the groupbuy price
Thanks

Castors,
I dont deal with orders but yeah they should be camber rear mounts and extenders.
Andy,

All being sorted for you

got mine(2004 sti) fitted at the weekend, great build quality and the height adjustment is huge.you can literally have it nigh on standard height or scraping off the floor.
don't get my alignment done until friday so just taking it easy, but up to now the car feels stiffer and more composed with a lot less body roll yet its still not as harsh a ride as the sti set up with prodrive springs.
fantastic bit of kit for the money, big thumbs up from me

you won't be disappointed with the coilovers

Mine arrived yesterday - look absolutely brilliant.
The sweetie in the box was a nice touch - kept the missus quiet for a minute or so
Can't wait to fit 'em and rid the car of the knocking and banging.
Many thanks

Fitted today, real easy apart from the odd rusted on 19mm bolts.
I added 30mm of ride height to each damper out of the box, this gave a 20mm front and 30mm rear drop on a 03sti. Ideal.
Thanks steve for the heads up on adding 30mm to each damper, cos out of the box it would of been way way too low.

Steve, what spring rates did you get? 5/4 ? How do they compare with the stock springs? What sort of damper settings do you use? Thanks Peter

I am tempted by these for my Hawkeye STi when I uprate the suspension. Luckily, after 12k miles (and about 11k on Tein Springs) my shocks haven't gone t!ts up yet, but I'm guessing its just a matter of time so would rather sort something out before the inevitable happens.
I know its probably been asked in the thread, but as I'm struggling with a poo internet connection so I cant scan the many pages before this..
For a fast road and occasional track application for my 2007 Hawkeye STi (5x114.3), what kit and spring rate would you recommend?? Also, could you confirm the price for the kit.
Cheers,
Grant

I left the front as they came and put the back up 15mm, i really need to get some settings for the alignment / geomerty as its all out obviously.. but i felt the need to test it out and OMG!!! everyone needs a set of these.

Gents, I went to the Autosport Show at the NEC this weekend and Suspension was one of my main interests. I guess there were at least 15 exhibitors there with suspension on display. Some said outright "We don't do coilovers for Subaru" such as Koni. Others quite frankly did not know what they were talking about and basically werre selling ice creams: they would dive for their own catalogue and say words to the effect of "Do you want the red one or the green one?" Actual hard data was NIL. At a prestigious international sporting show, not one exhibitor who was displaying suspension could talk data. So far in a 4 month investigation the only one who has quoted believeable data to me has been Bren at Apex. My other source is NASIOC but we have to be careful with their data in Blighty and filter it. Conclusion: the Apex Coilovers are the best value for money. I have prices from Tein and others but none has data so I don't know if they are right, and most were more expensive than Apex. BTW there was one exhibitor there who builds off-road buggies and is a suspension designer and we had a fantastic chat about suspension, and I ended up on my knees before him: "Please become a suspension solutions consultant !" and he just laughed. In the next few days I will type up all my findings for my application: Fast Road 2.5 STi GDF and you can all lay into me. I will copy this post onto Technical: Suspensions.
