At the end of the day, having owed both consoles, life with the PS3 is a very lonely one, thats after you have done yet another update of course Then when you finally do get into an online game, nobody talks!

Must admit I find these threads very entertaining I like how a thread with the title "PS3 UPDATES " gets posted, then all the 360 boys jump on it. Doesn't seem to happen the other way round.

And these arguments against the PS3 are really quite funny , So funny in fact I wont even bother to respond to them in case the poster(s) stop posting them

BTW the updates are available tomorrow (Wednesday )

Wonder how long the update will take to download

 

For me trophies are nothing to get excited about. Achievements must be the most pointless thing 360 has brought to market for me personally.

I suppose for Sony they think it will stop people with both systems buying the 360 version as often so they can get achievements.

 

Everyone Ive done as taken no longer than 15-20 mins Although on the day of release it can get busy and I usually download the update from the web and install it via a CF card

 

Being serious for a minute here, why does it take 15-20mins for such small updates?

 

Dunno: But I was including the install time as well , And as I said do the update on the day of release the server is bound to be busy, Just like it is on the Wii when a new online game gets released. But by far the quicker method is to download from the web and install via storage card = 10 mins max

Plus I think the updates are around 100mb + so not that small

 

2.36 was 135mb, took about 3 mins to download on my PC, then memory card, install, no problem.

However, downloading from PSN is much slower and problem ridden for updates for some reason.

360 Dashboard or Game updates take no longer than 20 seconds, direct from the console and install while downloading.

 

Agreed, same old drival from the same old boring suspects.

 

It makes you laugh though even if it is the same people saying the same thing, just ocassionally someone will have a new slant on the argument to brighten up proceedings.

It's not as if it's important in the great scheme of things is it, all these people raising their BP over a games consol

Anyone confirm if 2.40 is out yet?

All I'm going to say on the 360 v PS3 debate is that I couldn't go back to being a 1 console gamer ever again...

PS3 - half-arsed software (but improving)

360 - half-arsed hardware.

 

2.40 is available now, downloading now (at a surprisingly quick rate too!) on my PS3.

Sadly, 2.36 is the one still available on the website, but I would imagine they will fix that sometime today.

It's just so easy to wind some people up though. Livens up a dull afternoon, (much more fun than coding COBOL programs )

 

I had a 360 given to me as faulty which I got fixed under warranty. I had PGR2 and Viva Pinata. I bought Forza 2 because everyone said it was great. I found it hard to control and very little feel.

Sold the 360 and waiting for my PS3 to arrive. Got PS3 for Bluray and GT5 when it comes out. Misses is waiting for her Wii and Wii Fit - we got deals on our phones.

Mind you, my L33t PC ownz all consoles.

Downloading now its 130mb in size and dont forget if you download from the web to create the correct folders on the storage media otherwise the PS3 might not find it when installing

what folder structure do you need? - I DL'd it to save myself 10 mins online later...

 

Create a folder and name it PS3 inside that create another one and call it UPDATE and stick the file in that one

 

wow thats fast but at least i dont have the worry of 3 red lights with the ps3

 

Thats funny, i was on my second PS3 within a week of buying it!
