As far as I know, if you stick with the factory fitted recirculating valve from subaru, you should get marginally better performance as the car is mapped and setup for it, if you fit and aftermarket one then sometimes your ecu can get a little confused or so I've read. My car came with a Forge BOV so I don't know any different. I suppose it depends if you want things standard or you wanna scare people as you go whizzing past them, hehehe

ive got a 95 wrx it came with a dump valve, looks a cheap one (fleabay job). recently the check engine light has been coming on and i get that blowing over a bottle noise from the engine bay. can anyone help me find a oem recirc valve. and is the engine check light lightly to be a maf problem caused by the cheap intake and dump valve combo..

and wiley.....u need a blanking plug to block up the larger of the hoses coming from the bottom of the engine bay which used to connect to the oem valve that ull be replacing, like i said earlier in this thread, i didnt have one at first when i replaced my oem valve, so stuck a cut screwdriver handle in there tightened with a jubilee clip. anything like that will do. but i did pm u to say i know a guy on ebay who sells blanking plugs in various sizes, so if u measure the hose underneath ur oem valve, then jus order ur size. on my uk turbo 2000 (97 reg) i ordered a 34mm one and was a snug fit, perfect.

Wiley heres a link to the page mate:
