All lovely looking dogs. I have always found that if you let them sniff the back of your hand without any sudden movements, they soon become friendly.

Why people find it funny that others are scared of their dog is beyond me.

.
I have a staffie and do not think it is a status symbol, when I was looking for a dog I wanted something small enough that it doesnt take over the house. I also decided to go for the staffie as they are known as grannie dogs to kids. I have a two year old daughter so I wanted something I knew id feel safe having around her. He is as good as gold and never once has he shown any form of aggression, towards any human or any other form of animal.

Every dog can be dangerous regardlesss of size or breed should they not be looked after properly not just staffies and rottweilers.

it is statements like the above that give the staffie and rottweilers a bad name

Dog looks just fine - have you considered that it might be you that scares them off - or your partner/wife

People for some reason do the same with mine. Will happily walk out into the road to get away from him. Cross the road, walk into shops etc.

I think yours looks lovely, certainly not one to run from. But then it comes down to not everyone not liking dogs, some being very afraid. If she is off the lead too, it would explain it even more. But as you say this is about ON lead stuff.

Thankfully NO-ONE has been stupid enough yet to approach to try and pet without first asking if its ok. Not since he lost the lil fluffy puppy look anyway lol.

Guess it all just comes down to as has been said. Not everyone likes/gets on with dogs, nor wants to be near them. Bit like me and smokers lol.

I think Mike's post was taken out of context. I would be more inclined to say the people mentioned in the said post are the ones giving the breeds bad names. Not the spectators.
People do buy them as a trophy, that is the thing that is causing the genuine owners the bad name.

Thankfully my breed does not fall into this catagory....yet!

Prejudice, ignorance and the media sensasionalising events.

Lovely looking dog mate, but as Shaggy says, try walking (two) Rottwielers and see what its like.....

Best answer to that question Richie is

"its a dog - are you a retard or something?"

Have used the "its a dog" answer a few times when asked "what is it"

Generally either lightens the atmosphere if its one of the self professed "anti dog police" or gets a laugh from sensible folk

Does your Dog work for Dominos, cheaper than an Eastern European bloke in a Nissan Almera I suppose.

I have to mess the gaps to stop her digging them up again
Surely there's an easier way, can't you use chicken wire or summat?

I'll give you £10 if you can get to Woody without at least getting a soft, loose, jaw around your wrist.

And if he doesn't like you, then...
