Especially knowing the past history. How was WESTLIFE

Sorry for the ignorance and I haven't met up with any of you fellas, and ladies before, but I thought the WYIOC were a friendly bunch, why would there be a problem with other members from different clubs turning up, like I say, I don't know if there is any bad history or anything, just seems a little childish.
Didn't I see a thread not so long back where some WYIOC members nipped over to some SMAC meeting?

Given the past history, I would say we're not a club to hold grudges, or to be childish about telling people not to come to our meets, thats just being really really immature about the whole situation, we cant wait for some members to come back from Stelvio, as they come back after the meet, and I think they've got better things on their minds!!! all of those lovely twisty windy roads!!!
what is the problem with letting people come to meets?

Remember there are club rules for this kind of thing. It had to be followed for another member, you know the story. Can't just go changing the rules to suit, whilst the rest are not here to have their say. Sorry but club rules are club rules.

Lets not get on this now please. We as a club have more important things to sort out, like the NBO, which is only 2 weeks away. This needs to be sorted asap.

no worries, i'll leave it at that then, i'm sure a lot of people have more to say on the matter, but wont on public forum.
I understood that members were welcome back even if they had left, but i must be mistaken in some circumstances.
Will await Alan and Andy's return so they can discuss this, in the meantime, EOM!!!!!!!! this thursday guys!!!!!!
i'm hoping i can be out of work for maybe 8ish, so I'll see you chappies there if i can get. if not, i'll send my NBO suggestions on

The SMACS thing is a completely different thing. Some of these guys that you are referring to used to be WYIOCers but left us for a new club which fell apart very quickly.Changed club names and hey ho history was repeated. Yes the WYIOC is open to all but not when you know the history. Think it's only fair to wait while the Stelvio lot come back to get their views, being as tho some of them are long time members, would be unfair not too

The WYIOC and SMACS have always had a strong support for each other and this will continue.
It isn't by any means childish, but as you say, you aren't aware of the history of the club so may appear like that at this time.
I won't go into anything on the forum or via PMs as to reasons why there would be a problem and would ask for it not to be brought up on here either.
The WYIOC are a friendly group, welcoming several new members over the weekend at Scooby ShootOut which we hope to see at the EOM tomorrow as well. With the way the SSO went, I'm sure it will be a point of discussion tomorrow, if you would like more info I would suggest coming along to meet us as well.

Call me naieve (sp?) but I'm happy to see any Scooby owner, if club matters are up for discussion in some privacy, I'm sure they would understand !

P.S. I'm quite aware of the past, BUT i don't live in it !

Dont want to start a dispute but there was some discussions at SSO and there is a valid reason why Yatesy and Mrfixit want to come to the meet,I wasnt part of the conversions but there will be people who will back this up,I know im only a newbie but I have no objections and im sure there are others who will think this also Hope to see ya both there (as long as everybody is in agreement)
The WYIOC is and hopefully will continue to be friendly and welcoming even though there have been disagreements between clubs..............change can be a good thing!

As a partial victim of previous ill-will, I'm all for getting on with life, not baring grudges, so if this drives some to sarcasm.....
If I don't get on with an individual, I will avoid confronting them, otherwise they are welcome to join a club I'm proud to be a member of. Thankfully I don't have a problem with any current or previous members, so I'm simple ?
Be good to see you Jim & Aileen, as I missed you at the SSO

i cant make this meeting, working lates. just to draw the topic away from the meet, i got a new car(say new, its an R reg) its got a turbo and intercooler and four doors, on difference is its a diesel!!! lmao! not got any time really at the minute to attend any meetings or club activites. found myself deeply engrossed in the art of work! plus i'm trying to get this house up and moving.
back to the topic of interclub meetings. i'm with chieftain on this. i'm a fairly new member too, and believe in leaving the history where it is.. you say the WYIOC is a family club. IMHO its not setting a very good example to the kids if some of the adults are been childish themselves, by not letting other scooby club members coming to a WYIOC meet. i think the people who still hold a bit of resent, of whatever took place in the past, really need to look towards the future and welcome new people, and old people who want to return, with open arms. i dont have a personal interest in whatever happened in the past, but one thing i do know is that all the people who drive a scooby share the same passion as the next person driving one.
and as for club rules.... perhaps they need addressing at the next meet, to discuss what stance the club takes in welcoming new and old faces.. from what i can tell from these posts in this topic, if you leave the club to go elsewhere, then the door will be closed behind you.. does that mean that if i dont renew my membership, and because i no longer have a scooby, that i too cant join up again in the future??

please chaps, i have strong feelings on this and it seems everyone else has, please lets leave this for discussion within the club when Alan Mr Chairman and Sticky Mr Vice Chairman return.
Please can we refrain from posting any further opinion on public forum as this needs to be discussed at club level.
Thanks
