I realised some was a bit extravagent but believed all the upgrade etc to be true but even the exhaust is just a back box, only if id known, cam belt reciept was dated jan 07 so was done, just ages ago, do like your comments rjm not that i should but they did make me laugh

 

just been reading another forum about someone wanting to fit the TD05 turbo to their subaru as an upgrade, but everyone is recommending it remapped straight away or could blow a piston. Im wondering if this upgrade was done on my subaru without it being remapped, hence the no compression on my no 4 cylinder

 

I'm no expert, but there could be a link methinks?

 

Can anyone confirm what turbo a 1996 WRX would have as standard I have just been told it is the TD05.... can anyone confirm this

says on the one u bought has sti 6 rear spoiler and on the one listed now has sti 6 rear spoiler
one is a mid level and the other looks like its possibly and aftermarket tommy kaira model!

He has been advertising on ebay for a long time, cos i'm always up just for a look.

Are your lower suspension arms ali?
Do you have sti logo on the clocks and on the front seats?
your intercooler should be silver.
it should have a carbon/ali upper front strut brace.
intake manifold should be red.
engine block should be semi closed deck aswell.
it should not have front spot lights.

the white one he has for sale is an sti, not the silver one

I think he needs reporting to ebay aswell, they dont take crap, they just get rid of him, but i suppose he will trade under another name.

 

if it was a true sti v2 as listed it would have a tdo5 16g as standard.

 

I believe thw WRX also runs with the TD05 turbo as standard or thats what I have been informed by fellow scooby net members, I now have the car back and it goes like stink, and is totally serviced all new belts pullies etc so it will be good for a while now and hopefully should not have any further problems. The guy is advertising under several names I have noticed. I have trading standards investigating the guy as his adds are cut and paste so there will be plenty more people in my case if he is not sorted. Thanks for all the replies, its been great.
