on the fuel issue, i sympethise with the governments dilema! basically there are ever diminishing Petrol suppies!!, we have to find a solution to this as well as global warming! but I dont see why this country has to make a stand on its own!! We are one of the highest fuel prices in the world!!! But we need to invest more money in real Alternative energy sources!!!, so I feel we need to be about the £1 a litre mark but all profits ploughed in to Hyrdogen fuel cells or other alternative fuel, but not eletric as this just puts more demand on our coal powered elecric stations!!!

We are all burying our heads in the sand if we just wnt to reduce fuel prices and do nothing about emissions or fuel shortage!!

Scrap all speed cameras except those which are in genuinely needed areas i.e. outside schools, i'd replace these by having more traffic police on the motorways who use their judgement on driving safely.

I'd claw some of the revenue back by doubling the cost of the driving test whilst making it mandatory for the test to include motorway driving, any fines issued would be pumped back into the transport infrastructure. I'd introduce a national road building policy.
We don't need more roads, we need less people.
Fines don't educate people ! The Police should be able to issue reduced fines along with mandatory training orders, where examples of poor driving require the perpetrator to sit a period of extra training with an ADI, and depending on the severity, possibly a new driving test. Anyone banned should sit a driving test to reacquire their license.
The driving test should be enhanced to 3 stages from the current 2 (theory & HPT followed by practical) to include the Pass Plus test, sat within six months of passing the first 2 parts.

I'd introduce old fashioned schooling, and get rid of all the politically correct religious nonsense in schools, i.e. teaching kids the Koran.
As already stated, remove ALL religion from schools.
Performance related rewards cannot work however, so poor schools need assistance.

Anyone entering the country must put down a 10,000 quid deposit before they enter.

Any instance where an immigrant wishes to use the politically correct asylum laws and european rights will have to be paid for by them, they would not receive legal aid.
Legal Aid - No!
Healthcare - Emergency only, unless you or the health service of your country of origin can pay.
Benefits - Each 3 consecutive years of full payment of all taxation rewards a years worth of benefit entitlement to a maximum of 3 years in total.
To come to live you MUST speak English.
You MUST NOT have a criminal record.
Genuine asylum applicants must satisfy all requirements laid down under international law and all treaties and agreements dictate by the United Nations, and would be non-permanent depending on the ongoing situation in the applicants country of origin.

Incapacity benefits need a major review and applications require much stricter scrutiny. Long term unemployed need a firm push back into work. If we can find jobs for a million Poles, I'm sure we can offer them to lazy, work-shy slobs from the UK.

The EU often appears as just a big price-fixing cartel, and a cushy employment opportunity for politicians whose lunacy has been exposed making them unelectable. Restricting food production to artificially increase the price is not an acceptable policy. If they are truly representing the peoples of Europe, surely they should be finding ways to increase production and reduce costs ? The £1bn it costs us to be a member must surely be offset by the trade profits it creates, and if it doesn't then perhaps we should exit. I'm almost certain that if the whole story were made public then the EU in its current guise would be a story of corruption, profiteering and theft.

Major savings could be made by simply removing the treatment of foreign nationals through the immigration policies stated above. Having spent quite some time over the last eighteen months in hospitals due to having a child, it was at times like being in the United Nations in New York. I also think we need to address what treatments are available. It cannot be acceptable that cancer sufferers are refused treatments whilst others get nose jobs in the name of vanity.

Knife crime, get caught with any knife other than a tiny penknife and you get a stint inside, if you are convicted of using a knife then a mandatory 10 years in prison no questions.

Gun crime - no reason why ANY person needs a gun, get caught then your going down.
Prisons should be horrible places with little or no luxuries or comforts, at least for the early part of any sentence. Good behavior over time should open up opportunities for things like TV access. No prisoner should have a mobile phone (easy to block their use anyway ) or a TV, PS3, SKY, net etc in their cells ! NO time off, but time added if justified.
Introduce strict working regimes to prisons whereby companies can contract in to use them as a labour force, paying them NMW and all relevant contributions, then the penal system charges them rent to the tune of 90% of that, with 5% in their pockets and 5% saved for their release. Consistent good behavior, hard work and relative to time served they will progress to the comfier blocks with things like communal TV and better food. If they refuse work or **** about, back to the Gulag.
Sentencing needs to be reviewed to give greater consistency and more relevance to the effect the crime has on society. It is wrong that you can get 8 years for fraud, but 6 months suspended for stabbing someone in they eye !

(the above might cause a problem as we may not have any MP's left):
Agreed. Total transparency is needed.

As for the NearBuxtonRing, bring it on
