if i had ***** (well lady *****) il have given them a quick flash see if that helped.

seems very lenient though. presumably on a motorway 70mph stretch.

good luck to the o.p. can i ask what sort of road stretch it was?

no i didnt even know i had been caught untill i got a letter 2 weeks later
i had a choice of going on the course or going to court.they only do the speedin course in so many areas,so not every one gets to go on it.
i was on a dual carriage.i was just lucky, but then again i got to be good for two years as i wont be able to go on that course again.

Nope 108mph and no instant ban.

Plead guilty, admit the charge of excess speed in a 60 limit, you were speeding after all, there will be no doubt in the magistrates mind of that but question wether you were actually doing the speed the Police are claiming though. What proof do they have?? If it is just a Policemans statement you can cast doubt on the speeding figure they are claiming, esp if you have not admitted anything at the roadside?

They will acknowledge that fact that you have pleded guilty to the charge which is always good.
Get a letter from you employer and write a statement to be read out in court saying that you are very sorry and remorseful, acted like a prat, need your car for work/family, it was totally out of character etc. They may then go easy on you.

Utter tosh
If you plead guilty, you are accepting the prosecution evidence. If you start questioning the speed, the Magistrates may deem you have given a not guilty plea and adjourn the case for trial. Then you will wish you had been to see a solicitor rather than take heed of the drivel you read on this board (this post excepted).

My experience for a few year back, well 13 year to be accurate. I got done for 70 in a 30 (long story which I won't bore you with now), Basically went to court and got a 21 day ban. After which I pleaded with the courts free solicitor that I needed my license for work, He went back into court and got it changed to 5 points and a £200 fine. Thankfully it was my first offense so didn't even affect my insurance renewal Do your best to get out of a ban as it will be a nightmare getting insurance for years afterwards, Especially on a scooby.

Oh and good luck bud.

They had the gun on me and that showed 99, they even showed it to me so that kinda proves it.
Will just have to wait for the summons and take it from there.
Cheers for the help and advice everyone.

What car where they in to catch you up? If you passed then at 80-99mph and they where stationary must have been very quick unless you slowed down

Good luck hope you get off lightly

They were in some sort of volvo, think its the fastest car they have up where I am.
Once i passed them at 80 i pretty much slowed down to about 60 anyway, didnt brake, just took my foot of throttle, no point in slowing down immediately as they already knew i was speeding past them
They'd put the flashers on so i pulled over as it was obvious they wanted me.

Whats annoying is that i wasnt sitting at 100 for long they just managed to catch me at the peak of my speed burst.

I hope im lucky and get 6 points and a fine.

Did you need to go to court about yours?
