Right that's it, I've decided, we're going Steve I hold you partly responsible for this, if you hadn't put your piccies up in the first place I wouldn't have thought about it
Markus, I have a TomTom, USA maps are only £50 so no worries there although I've been promising myself a new one for a while...
I've ordered Rand McNally's Road Atlas 2008 from Amazon so that I can start planning. All I need to do now is book flights, the car and a few hotels
Oh and pay for it all
I suppose I ought to tell Bob too

Right it's booked and I'm uber excited
After three days spent searching the internet for flights I finally decided to stop being a tightwad and booked two Premium Economy direct flights with Virgin from Heathrow. I chose Virgin because A) I didn't fancy flying with BA out of Terminal 5 on Friday 13th and B) I have a good friend who is a Purser on Virgin Atlantic at Heathrow and he's going to drop a note into the FSM's pigeon hole to let him know we're flying, fingers crossed for an upgrade
The convertible Mustang is also booked and we pick it up at San Francisco Airport after we land
We are both quite excited
Bob is currently on Google Earth looking up West Coast Customs in LA
Thanks everyone for all your help
