Ian quick question what are the issues fitting alloy arms to a Newage wagon? Lad over on Scottish Scoobies had a steel one snap and subaru are denying any responsibility despite the recall so the obvious route is to fit alloy arms but don't think they are a straight fit.

Alright Arch, yeah as above they are identical; so all the underpinnings are the same across four and five door chassis...iirc new age arms are different from classics though

Cool thanks must admit I thought I Was going mad. There are slight differences in track between Newage and classic arms but nothing other than a wee bit more castor so actually a positive.

Anyway when you finishing this ?

Start a crowdfunding thing, and get a different ecu. I know why you'd rather not, but, if it's going to be that much of a pig to get mapped, then you may have to.

I started a crowdfunding thing in jest for a 6 speed box, it was massively unsuccessful.

Could do...still holding out for Richard Bulmer and I want to show people it does work instead of going down the easy option

Crowd funding...hmm, maybe for a 911R?

Happy NY. 2017; year of the wagon

Got to cross the first thing off my list today; air feed for oil cooler. Marked to cur, I wanted to keep as much of the pressed steel as possible to retain strength.

First cut with angle grinder.

Cleaned up with a file; radius on every edge and no burrs. Test fit with hose is spot on no pinch now.

Cleaned and primed. I have so rubber edge strip to glue to it once dry.

Feels good

It happened again

CAI hose in...lovely shade of orange but this is double skinned and satiless so won't go rusty like the last one You can just see it peaking through below.

Slapped bumper back on and trimmed both hoses.

Noticed a bit of rust so removed it and primed it.

Just need to stick the rubber strip on and both sides are done...I used impact adhesive last time and made a bloody mess, any recommendations anyone?

I've got to trim the flares of the fuel lines to add the -an adapter, <engage dumbass mode> can I use my Dremel and not blow myself up?! <disengage dumbass mode>

Yes just drain the line and give it 5 minutes. Fuel soon flashes off/evaporates.
