IMO these contesting kids are all deluded. Their ambitions, vision, and their own perception about themselves is pathetically distorted. They need to forget about this superficial "beauty" thing, and get on with their studies.

I blame X-Factor and all that reality 'talent' show crap - seems like every kid out there thinks they have what it takes to become a celebrity something or other.

Dont know if they are all just really arrogant and actually think that they are better than or as good as genuinely talented people, or as good looking as really attractive people, or just very deluded.

With these model things, it makes you wonder about the state of some of the ones who didnt even make it to the shortlist !!!!

And before anyone moans and says 'I bet you're not that good looking' etc.... the point is irrelevant as I'm NOT entering myself into a beauty contest - in the same way that I know I cant sing, so wont be auditioning for the X-Factor, but know enough about music to know when someone is tone deaf !!!!

 

I'm going to look again tonight after the pub and 10 pints.

I have to say that is a poor selection and not really representative of the average person on the street.

Daft thing is if you walk down most high streets you will see loads of prettier girls, maybe they just arent quite as desperate for fame ( or are just planning to marry a footballer, so wont need the money )

To be fair.. I think the photographer has screwed up these shots completely. Looks to me like a p*ss poor attempt capture 'natural beauty' which has come out more like a prison lineup, than a collection of beauty contestants.

I mean look at the OP's pictures of his missus...
She takes a better picture of herself (with a camera phone by the look of it) than what the photographer has achieved...

The photographer is clearly not sure of what they are doing, none of the girls on that site are particularly attractive and it doesn't help that the photographer doesn't know how to take a decent flattering pic!!

If thats all this country has to offer then oh dear....

 

Agree entirely, will anyone be willing to pose the probem in the photography section? IMO Far too much exposure combined with forward facing light/flash at the wrong angle....Like using full flash on a compact camera (that's unfair, alot of digital compacts will adress this if in protrait mode). Also seems to be slight lens distortion; like using those cheap and nasty lenses which are currently rife on eBay (I have one: great for landscape, but darnt not use it for portraits - unless I'm being "arty" where you want the person to look like they need a Claritin ).

Still, there are some scary ones on there.
