Right...

Thanks first of all...

Dave - As always, many, many thanks for organising what is , for me at least, the highlight of the WYIOC calendar. These things just get better and better. Keep up the good work mate.

Mick - For turning up and looking well. Great to see you up and about.

All who helped getting the car on and off that bleeding trailer. What can I say? It was cheap

Sean, Kaine, Bexter, Kathryn, Emily and any kids I've missed off. We couldn't have done it without you.

The laidies doing the cooking & hot drinks. Yummy!

All my passengers throughout the day... thanks for the smiles, laughs, chatter and sometimes silence

Simon - Cheers for the help unloading back at the unit

The whole day was full of highlights, but the most memorable ones must have been passing Craftsy on the grass...

...oh, and the "Oh F**K" moment when Scott was in with me. I blame the rain

As most of the day was spent on the track, I had very little chance to get any decent pics. Here's the best of what I got...

Hi Gary glad you "enjoyed" it.... I have realised that moving the rear ARB to the middle setting would have "calmed down" the over-steer..... I HOPE !

Thanks for the spin in yours, it's a credit to you that "she" handles so well, and goes some. I sent my pal James the shots of yours to annoy him !

Hi to Alistair and "smoky joe" (I had to get out from the smoke screen on the M180), Just get the KA RWD and you'll be fine lad !

Thanks to Sarah for driving me to collect the various bits of my car.... Hmm!

Sorry to Zak for missing him !

Duncan

P.S. Good to see Mick up and about again !

HILARIOUS!!!! as you can see the wyioc take safety very seriously,

there was a point in the day where dave mentioned that there were a few too many cars out on the track, i had to point our that we had a 7 & 10 yr old running the security....

I was patiently waiting by the 7 & 10 yr old marshalls, they couldnt work out why there were 2,3,4,5 and 6 pegs but only 5 of us running,

had to give the thumbs up

I liked how whilst the track car session was on, they walked down the line of waiting cars handing out the blocks [good thinking], but if no-one was in the car they went to the next one

Well it just gets better and better everytime we go to Blyton

Thanks to everyone for turning up and making the day what it is, but big thanks to Dave for organising, and along with Al, keeping everything running smoothly.

Sticky, really really appreciate you taking my spare wheels over, as I would'nt have been able to go sideways so much if I'd have had to save my tyres for the drive home

And as for the passenger laps . . sure you go a bit soon as you get in that Pug Awesome experience mate, foo knows how that Pug keeps going with the abuse you give it

The secret is not to touch the oily bits unless you realy, really have to. And when you pop the bonnet always have someone nearby who has a clue (Thanks to the Precious Metal guys )

Oh, and treat the accellerator as if it's a digital switch. On / Off, nothing in between

Or in your case, just 'On'...

It certainly sounded like the 'Death Rattle' was present towards the back end of the day...

If you think that was funny you should have been at the unit to see the unloading.

Just myself and jade. Rolled the car right to the back lip of the trailer, went round to the front and lifted with all my bloody might whilst Jade put that bit of wood under the frame to support it....

and the car rolled off the back with a bloody great crash.

At this point I'd not got round to fixing the ramps to the back, so it went as far as it could (about 2' back and 1' down) before being stopped by the exhaust brackets I'd repositioned earlier in the day.

About 700kg of Pug resting on a 6mm thick bit of metal!

Put the ramps on as best as I could, considering the bloody car was where they should have been...

Managed to cajole Jade into getting in and keeping her foot on the brake whilst I hurriedly poked about around the exhaust with a bit of timber to try and lift it free of the trailer lip, then talked her through gently letting off the brake...

"Okay, brake... BRAKE!!!!"

1...

2...

3...

Brakes go on (Frogot she was blonde, short delay in processing the request )

Eventually rolled the car off without further incident and with the exhaust in tact.

Result.

Rich, the "Death rattle" was a result of the ignition barrel sticking by the end of the day, meaning that if I didn't turn it back a click after starting the car, the starter motor kept turning. Fathomed it out and a quick squirt of WD40 later she was fine. (Had me worried for a good 30 seconds though )
