I was insure at first but they have grown on me.

At first I thought bloody hell they are a bit extreme then when I first had a look at them on the car again a bit if a shock but now after seeing the car on the road and having seen them a few times I like them as a second wheel. I think they look different and that's what's needed these days something different. On the road the car looks completely different, the red seat bolsters and they rear lights all match in together with the wheels and the car has a completely different look... Not a wheel for rally day though init

I quite like them kev, definately different which is never a bad thing!

How do you find the handling with the 18's? I had 18's on my classic when I bought her, not long after I put a massive buckle in two of them arsing about in the snow up the range and decided to go for 17" rota gra's with me liking the look of them and them being extremely lightweight which was a bonus, and I couldn't get over the difference (for the better) in the handling and general feedback on the road.

I think it's well known that 17's on a classic are a better wheel.
A 35 profile tyre is a bit harsh TBH and is not for everyone.

I like them Kev.

Swansea wheel specialist did mine, and now he wants to do my other set in a radical colour but I'm undecided at the minute.

May go blue.

What colour are yours??

Apple Candy Red.

I'm very pleased with the work the wheel specialist did.

World is your oyster on a white car .

This chapter of the cars history will soon be coming to an end as I've taken a deposit on it over the weekend .

As soon as the number plate transfer is completed Phil will be taking ownership and a new chapter begins.

I wish Phil all the very best, it's a special car and deserves to be cherished as I'm sure he will.

Without a doubt the best car I've ever owned and really sorry to see it go but the time is right for me now.

I think it's well known I'm partial to a flat 6

Once the R has gone I'll start looking to see what available.

I feel a bit disappointed that I'm not going to see it around like we used to Kev as I really loved that car, the new owner is certainly getting one of if not THE best Type R in the country. I know it's been a long thought process on selling and not an easy one I know. So on to pastures new and you know I'm going to love what you replace the Type R with and knowing your high standard it's going to be a very nice example. Good luck in your search

Thanks Jay and I appreciate the advice along the way.

It was a tough decision but time is right for me to move on.

Replacement wise I'm a fussy bugger so it will have to stand up to the test

So that's it then, the new owner picked up the car today and headed home.

It's over 8 years since Simb, Big Daz, Simon and I all headed off to Kent to view this supposedly mint Type R and it didn't disappoint.
The moment I saw it it had to be mine

If Phil gets half the enjoyment as I've had then he will be a very happy man.

Huge thanks for everyone's input over the years it's really been appreciated

So as they say

That's all folks !

Back safe and sound Kev.

I got stopped by 2 people at petrol station who wanted to know everything about the car.

All the best.
