my second greenhouse in one year has survived the storms so far....i wrapped gaffer tape round it to stop the panels getting blown out again

Pressure here has dipped as low as 941mb - that is seriously (ahem) depressing!!!

948 now - normally THAT figure would be a cause for concern but at least it is going in the right direction

This is from one of those digital weather station devices... don't know how accurate the pressure measurement is, but 941 is very worrying.

It probably is, and most likely reading QNE and not QNH, so it will read your altitude as 0 feet, if it did such a thing.

If it were QNH it would read sea level as 0 feet and your house the actual altitude, and so on.

So then the value might seem lower than usual i.e. the surface value might be 960 mb, but since you might be on higher ground it would be 948 mb this means roughly speaking that: 960-948= 12 mb x 30 feet (value of 1 mb in feet) = 360 feet above sea level is where you are at.

Make any sense lol?

Heard on the TV lies show, I mean the news, the severe storm was heading for the UK, how did it go?

Seen some pictures. Reminds me of the tim ein the 80's when Seven Oaks became One Oaks, and I lost all my washing that was hung out on the line.
