When there is a CD loaded in the headunit the cd light comes on and it will begin to play, to switch back to the ipod you just hold down the CD button.

Any other questions just ask.
The scan button switches between (as far as I can tell);
1. Single track play, i.e all songs, but u can't use the track back or forward button, you have to use buttons 5 and 6 instead.
2. Bit strange but same as above - Single track play but you can use the track back or forward.
3. Probably the best one, Album play, you can use the track back/forward button to play tracks by album

Works great.

Maybe the ipod was that low on power it needed to be charged normally to initialise it or something?

hi all,
Got an email from sony saying that the xa-110ip/120ip would not work on my old 2000 era sony hu, so found something from Connects 2,Car Audio integration specialists so may be of use to peeps with older setups. Put it in last night sounds good but still hav'nt figured out the controls fully, so need to play over the weekend.

also definatly charges the 80 Gb classic ipod

short update, just created a copy of playlists on the Ipod and tried it in the car, so I found can change playlist by using 5 buttton on the HU , so moving forward slowly.

Bit of an update - I'm still using the same headunit and ipod control and I've had no problems, I have switched to using an iPhone and everything works just as before but it didin't charge so I added one of these Scosche passPORT Car Charging Adapter - Apple Store (U.K.)

The ipod touch and the iphone are pretty much the same thing so I should imagine it should work but you might need the adapter to enable it to charge.

bit of an out of date thread, but i made the mistake of just buying the cable to fit ipod to the changer socket of the headunit, and it doesn't work. no matter how long you hold the cd button down, it won't switch to changer.

save your money and get the full ip500 conversion, like i will have to do now.

i've tried various fm transmitters and just want direct input for the ipod now.
