very interesting read!

OK.. sorry if I am complete doofus but ..... CEL?

"CEL came on before Xmas, diagnosed as misfire cylinder 1. New spark plugs, reset.

CEL came on again 1 week later."

This has got my interest now, can you explains in idiot terms what was happening just so I know what to watch out for?

CEL = check engine light = orange engine symbol on dash.

Illuminates when you accelerate uphill, or up a sliproad. Car runs fine. Diagnostics reports multiple misfires.

Right cool. Well I havn't really put any pressure on the engine since I have had it as I am waiting for this saturday when its going on the rolling road.

This should tell me all that is wrong with it.

Cheers Speedking ya da man!
