I'm aware the word is spelled agenda (as I used it in the 3rd post on this thread)which is why I said 'what you call adjenda' in quotes when replying to the other poster.

I think the reason for calling it 'white flight' is to sensationalise and appeal to a certain segment of society that loves to jump on anything that fits in with their poisoned and naieve view of the world.

Alcazar, I think you'll find Nacro used the ' ' around the word to highlight the mistake Snazy made and it wasn't his own mistake.

Oh and for what it's worth, when I first read the title I thought exactly as Nacro does. You just can't fit colour into matters like this when it suits and expect no questions, end of.

That will be naive though.

Actually, I think Nacro has a very good point with regards to the phrase but unfortunately, "white flight" is a good sound bite and it sells papers, so it's here to stay.

My apologies for the spelling mistake. Must be due to the death of some of my brain cells from reading all the trolling lol.

Both.

I wasn't pulling you up on your spelling snazy merely quoting you as it looked wrong but I really wasn't sure. As I've alluded to here I have real problems with my written english these days, particularly spelling as I don't use it much other than posting here and a few other english language websites.

of course and the rest of the article is designed to make the minister/government look daft - they never need much help in this direction..!

Anyways, to get back to the original post, who else thinks that Jacqui Smith will have MEANT something slightly different by early next week, been misquoted by the following week, and won't have said it at all by next month?

Lying Labour, eh?
Her office immediately said that what she meant was not what it sounded like.

By next week it will have changed to the fact that she feels perfectly safe anywhere in the UK and goes for long walks at two in the morning!

What a statement to make for goodness sake! Just shows the true level of her ability, about the same as the rest of the useless plonkers with a ministry to run in this bunch!

There are areas in London I wouldnt really choose to go to - But I suspect that at has always been the case.

Any perceived increases in crime are anecdotal, as the BCS statistically shows that crime has not risen significantly in the last decade or so, and has indeed dropped in some areas.

However, of course what the BCS cannot possibly show is unreported crime, which by definition is an unknown quantity.
