If they are this strong in a roll!
Cage is extra weight - does it make it THAT much safer. It obviously does to a degree. The cage would have to be padded as well.
It must make the car stiffer too - Anyone one had a car with and without a cage?
Thoughts anyone
Steve
Having had an accident in a rally car with roll cage that cracked my crash helmet I wouldn't like my bare head to hit a roll cage. Whilst they do make a car stiffer I'm not convinced of the benefit in a road car, especially one with standard seats and seat belts.

Being smacked around the head with a piece of 40mm diameter steel tube is not good for you.

OK obviously an unprotected cage and a bare head is not a good combination.
If a cage is padded - then perhaps a bare head hitting it is not so much of an issue?

any number of things, mechanical failure, slight hump in the road upsetting the balance of the rear, driver error (to much thorttle, not enough), slight greesy patch, take your pick.

if your pushing hard don't take much to bite you, and once you go your allong for the ride

It would still injure you considerably.

A cage should only be used with full race seat, harnesses and proper helmet.

I like the fatals on YouTube too.

If you don't want people to see this stuff and say they enjoy it if they do, then don't film it I say, otherwise as before £000's to zero in 3 seconds - fantastic!

Noobyscooby with that psyco mentality, you are going straight to jail. I don't care if they put you in a cage and drop you in the sea without air.

Just ignore him, he is obviously just an attention seeker..

Interesting crashes guys - I'm glad nobody got seriously hurt.

I rolled my first car only 3hrs after passing my test! [In a Datsun F11 120A coupe!] ~ this and the 7 subsequent accidents I had taught me a valuable lesson: Never exceed the capabilities of your car the road conditions or your driving skills..

It's not all bad though as at least I learnt by my mistakes as I haven't crashed in the last 15 years!

I was going to say the back looked like it had no grip, Where was the rear wing?

It looks like that the standard rear wing does give some down force, well just enough to stop accidents like the one on the video.

So it's ok to enojy the crashes aslong as no one gets hurt.

Fine. I agree.

But I also enjoy crashes where there's blood and guts.

What's wrong with saying that?

It's not saying it that is disturbing, it's the fact that you think it
Enjoying other peoples pain, suffering and loss shows a flawed/disturbed thought process. You need to consider if some professional help is required to understand your problems.

You'll note, if you watch or attend motorsports events, that following a big crash the spectators applaud/cheer if the driver/drivers walk away unhurt.
That, to me, is the natural reaction. I guess, by what you write, that you would not react in a 'natural' way.

Or are you just trolling?

I saw you self-aggrandising post - you did well and I've done the same, even held men while they've died with a steering column through their chest [pre seat belts] and picked up someone's officer's cap with the top of their head still in it whilst their brains have been splattered all over the front of my truck - and I wasn't the one who hit him either!

No, I don't revere human life in the same way that others do: one minute you're here, the next you're not - so what?

And if, in your going, you amuse, horrify or disgust somebody, well at least you made your mark for a moment in time.

Why do we all goggle at motorway crashes? The messier they are, the more we ooh and aah.

I can't have been the only person who laughed like hell at the guy who killed himself on a ski slope last week. He took the safety mat off some steel posts, climbed up the slope, used the mat as a sledge and killed himself on the posts he'd uncovered. THAT was funny. STUPID but funny. SAD for family, but funny.

Why else do we laugh at the Darwin awards? Guy getting free coke of out a machine by tipping it up only for said machine to fall on him and crush him to death How I laughed at that one!

And even better was the bloke who tied a JATO pack to his car - go read 'cos there can't be many motoring folk who won't laugh their socks off at that one.

My real point is that here on SN, if someone says anything out of line, you are immediately accusing of trolling despite having a perfectly valid point of view - just that it is not main stream - and people are too quick to infract because they have some sentimental view.

For example, I have previously expressed the following views:

I hate cats - infraction.

I love dogs - no infraction.

What's wrong with hating cats?

Indeed, what's wrong with hating dogs?

Further, what's wrong with hating people we are now no longer allowed to say we hate? The fact is that the more we are told we are not allowed to hate them because of what they are doing to our country, the more we will!

Nooby Scooby

You are an idiot and a bloody liar!!!!

If you want, you can come with me on a little trip of Afghanistan this Summer for six months, then see if you feel the same. I think you would p*ss your pants like the sad little twerp you are.You would be guaranteed to see sick stuff that YOU probably pull your pudding to on the internet and it would most likely be your own guts hanging out, or your mates. Death and injury is not a laughing matter tw*t!!!

absolutely spot on. hes another total waste of time, on what is supposed to be a enthusiasts forum.

and as for 'self aggrandising post', you will notice through your obvious superior grasp of terminology found in the english language that i mentioned several times i was merely expressing what i felt through my experience to see others opinions. i also mentioned more than once i wasnt after 'well dones' 'hero' etc, im still not. ok admittedly nice to be recognised and thanked for my litte efforts, but your reading far too much between the lines. possibly pop onto another forum you troll on and see what they think of your deluded sence of human nature.

rant over

You titled your post - "I think I done well" - self aggrandisement. But you did.

As for the others, been there, done that, got the beret.
