furry muff, its good to see someone thinking about what they are doing instead of chucking stuff randomly at their car

lol, I'm much happier without mine but you are right about a scooped car approaching in your rear view mirror; it can be quite intimidating

Just read through the whole thing and what a great read!!!!

i wish you all the best and that is far to technical for me to to understand all,but sounds like a well thought out project and great to see not one person has knocked you or had a go!!!!! all offering good advice is very refreshing IMO, they should be more like it on the rest of the threads on SN.

I will be a Knockhill round and will be cheering you on mate, will try and say a quick hello as well.

Cheers Mac.

I know from Knockhill last year just how friendly you all are up there, got so many people coming to say hi. Wonderful venue, great circuit and I am looking forward to that a lot. Pop by - always happy to chat

that's southern slang for you skid lid. bikers down here have a tendancy to need them as they slide down the road after either falling off or being knocked off their bikes.

Car is currently dead due to a fried ECU.

If anyone has a 2006 STi non ecutek'd ecu for sale or that I could borrow for two weeks you would be saving my life.

Fitted the splitter...

Just a support to be made for the rear of it to hook up to the angle aluminium I have put there to support the rear and use this to raise the rear centre section to create a small hollow towards the centre of the car.

Simon - Jolly Green Monster synced the ecu with the immobiliser and it breathed and coughed to live running a version of a TSL map for very light mods. Obviously not suited to it but running

Simon then volunteered to copy my map values into the ecu while he was here, which took a while to copy and paste values into ecutek, but enough to be able to go out and test it.

We tested it and it seemed okay but a bit off on the fueling and very conservative on the timing (but I knew that part). While he was in the car he suggested he might as well make some changes to the map and get the job done properly 8)

Quite a few map iterations later and it is sorted. (apart from a small diversion when the clip came off the actuator and I lost all boost ) That and tesco's petrol station being shut and me having to put BP Ultimate in

Managed to get fueling almost spot on and a fair chunk of timing added at the top end in order to get it happy and running sweet at 1.7 bar even on the BP Ultimate. It will be even happier on proper petrol and give me some room to tweak the boost further to allow for the better fuel.

I owe a huge debt to everyone that have gone out of the way to help me. The list is very very long indeed.

Feeling calm and prepared for the weekend now - last few jobs and it is done
