STI for Time Attack 2008
I think you have just seen the other thread but the outcome for me is that I will not be putting this on my car until Cosworth have convinced me very strongly to the contrary. It might make quite a nice tea tray though
No response that I am aware of yet.
Being 'popular' wasnt the criteria for chosing ScoobyMania for the engine and lots of the other work that they are doing for me.
From what I have seen so far of their quality of work, of time keeping, of contact, of taking loads (and I do mean looooads) of pictures for me, explaining what they would suggest, listening to my thoughts and giving ideas for improvements - I am extremely pleased
Their support is much appreciated.
Now, Mike - when can I have my car back ?

Looking forward to seeing you on track! Great project and very detailed.
Just out of interest, do the TGV deletes make a great deal of difference to a normaol road going car or do they only come into there own where your've got a tuned beast like yours? Only reason I ask is I have a set spare sittings.
Thanks
S!

Its in there for the first round at least until I can afford a replacement. I know it is costing me some weight (circa 10kgs) but priority is being given to function at the moment.
Currently on the look out for a cage.

Well, the car is home !!
I was too knackered last night to post anything, but it was an 'interesting' drive back from Nottingham in a friday rush hour with a new twin plate clutch, lightened flywheel and a car that doesnt like idling because the map is well off due to the amount of std bits we took off it or modified.
For the benefit of Mike and Jase, the final number of stalls was 11 including a really embarassing one whilst turning around in the next village to me where all the local 'hoods' hang out. Bang goes my street cred
Should be fun over the next few days getting the map right as a base.
Initial observations....
- fek the twin plate is noisey in a quiet cul de sac in the late evening !
- the under bonnet looks incredible
- the APS FMIC is stunning in the front grill
- it feels like it really wants to go
Great job I think

First mapping session done
job for this session:
- switch off the countless CEL warnings that result from removing the Tumble Generator Valve, the Air Pump and various other changes
- check that fueling is close enough in the low rev ranges to be able to run it smoothly
- check all logs to see if anything bad pops up
- try and see a trend from the changes that will give me pointers to how it be behave when able to unleash it
So far so good.
Oil and fluid levels checked as well - you can never be too paranoid at this crucial time
Now I am going BACK to work on it

Update from today.....
After being out mapping this morning whilst Annabelle was at Tri Club as usual, the time was there to go through some of the other items on my to-do list.
First a pic of the FMIC to whet your appetites lol.

Richard (Ren) very kindly arrived to give a hand on his way back from Cambridge and we cracked on with the main jobs in hand. Cheers Ren - much appreciated
1st thing to do was fit the Phormula Knock Analyser. Sort of a knock link but a bit more stylish looking and having the ability to plug in headphones to listen to the knock.
I fed the cable through the hole in the bulkhead and because the orange cable clashed with the red vacuum tubing, I enclosed it in some red tubing I had to make it look like it blended in
Knock Sensor mounted on the inlet manifold - this may not be its final resting place though:

Unit mounted in the car:

We later changed the positioning of this
Main job was bonnet pins.. first we found a couple of holes that could be enlarged to take the pins:

This shows the blob of grease that was used to mark the position under the bonnet where the bonnet would need drilling.
Both pins provisionally mounted:

Bonnet masked:

One done:

Both done

Then to remove the radio and move the phormula ps3 using a handy piece of carbon to blank it ...

Brake ducts have been on my list for a long time - Time to get it off whilst I am in the doing mood
First - up on jacks and off with the front wheels to allow access to the inner wheel arch liner. Then having marked a hole hrough the fog light ducts at the front I marked an outline for the exit pipe. Ok this isnt going to be direct onto the disc at this stage but it will blow in the general direction to aid cooling a little.

Then through with the 80mm air con ducting.

Then attach at the front:
